Major lag spikes/dc's in SWTOR with Internode

Major lag spikes/dc's in SWTOR with Internode

Unread postby Slazza » 16 Feb 12, 6:31 pm

So my guildies and I have been getting disconnected a lot, it's been ongoing for about two weeks.
We all get disconnected at the exact same time, happens to people on my friends list as well that are with Node.

I just tried to login then and the game got stuck on the load screen for about 3 minutes.
Finally logged in and was greeted with 300k+ ping and massive desync.

I got disconnected after 2 minutes of being in the game and now I can't even open it again because the launcher stalls.
It's only SWTOR that has issues, nothing else drops out when we get disconnected from the game.

Players with other ISP's don't have these issues and there's nothing on the Network Status page that indicates why the connection would be dodgy for the past two weeks or so.

Anyone else having issues with the game that are with Internode that aren't on The Swiftsure?

Occasionally, yes, but not as bad as you describe.

I get the very occasional disconnect as well (JJT server) but as with Marius nothing like that.

Ok, really doubt its because of your Internode connection.

What is your connection?

Speed? Packetloss? Also 300+ ping is not a bad thing, once you get to 1000+ then your having issues.

Easy Broadband Classic 8 Mbps.
I was getting 300,000+ ping. :P

About 13 other guildies with Internode always get disconnected or experience a lag spike at the exact same time, the rest of the guild not with Internode have no problems at all.

Occasional disconnects.

I hit the server page, and can join the server right away.

Come on AU servers!

Also been getting this (playing on swiftsure and using internode), myself and both housemates get these spikes that usually end up with us booted to the server screen, happens to us all at the same time.

I've been getting this as well recently. Usually I don't get kicked, but sudden lag spikes going up to 200k then suddenly back to 50... sometimes it doesn't happen all session, sometimes it happens the whole session every 5 or 10 mins...

This was happening to me during the beta.
Then again when I gave it a go recently.

My cause was multiple people using the wireless LAN at the same time.
I changed to physical cable and all my problems went away.

I don't quite understand it, but it was absolutely the problem for me.

I am CONSTANTLY getting the same kind of spikes you mention, both on US servers and on Australian servers. I contacted Internode about this and they ran a ping check and said everything was fine and it was on Bioware's end. Bioware, on the other hand, says it's my ISP. I'm sick to death of the blame passing and will likely cancel my subscription. It's a pity, I love the game, easily the best MMO to come out, but there's no use paying for a game I can't play.
