I'm playing Sentinel and loving it... dunno what you're talking about - how's the republic boring?

This is the best part of the consular story... No spoilers (except maybe who you get as companions, though its quite obvious)

They are quite often naked in cutscenes... even if you've got them wearing full armor.

I love my sith sorc... Start a smuggler but haven't given it justice yet (lv 3)
And have a sith warrior I started as well.. nice to be on korriban with differences in story quests :D

I was going in saying "no light sabers" now I want to play all the saber classes - but worried by the foolish jedis not having any ZAAAAPPPP ZAP ZAP ZAP

bounty hunter is not bad storywise, but what makes it superior to republic's trooper (it's mirror class) is the way their skills are displayed and play out.

it's rather obvious when u play both that the original design of both gameplay wise started with the bounty hunter first, and then adapted to the trooper visually...

especially obvious with the vanguard vs powertech where u see these:
flamethrower vs pulse cannon
flameburst vs ion pulse
missile vs explosive round
retractable blade vs knife
death from above vs mortar
etc...

in the bounty hunter case they fit like a glove and with the talent tree, either visually, sound wise, or in gameplay effect, in the trooper case it's identical skills and all but the visual, and feel of them is odd to say the least.

Lightning and missiles are nothing compared to kicking a sith in the nuts and calling down an airstrike on him while wearing a cowboy hat.

At lower levels the smuggler can also throw a sabotage charge at someone and run up and detonate it with a nut kick.

I think it's the opposite for the commando and BH merc. There's something about standing still and gunning down people with an assault cannon that makes sense.

My name is Yurtles and I too am a lightning addict. I mean seriously, sure you can try cajoling or begging or flirting OR you can just fry NPCs (on occasion numerous times for no real reason) until they see things from your point of view.

Played Bounty Hunter and Sorc up to 20 in the beta, sat in on the story for an Agent up to the same level. On Republic side played my JK up to 39, sat in on the story of a Smuggler and Consular until the same level too.

I really don't think any side has it better. Some stories are a slow burn, like the Consular, but all of them are enjoyable and worth witnessing. If you're not digging one side, it's not a lack of polish or a problem with the class, it's just your own preferences.

That's true to an extent (i personally can't stomach dual wield of any sort so BH merc was out of the question for me)...

until you realize that end game commando spends most of their time firing grav rounds more than anything else as it's their most efficient attack skill especially in pvp (in fact commando in pvp that are fairly high level will never use anything resembling blaster fire as they are simply inefficient)

slightly better i suppose compared to BH merc which had to look like they had a constipation while firing their heat seeking missiles.
