definitely great fun, I spent a couple of hours last night building and testing a map and it was pretty rewarding experience; haven't quite finished mine but I'll try yours, woodfox, tonight.

Edit: I asked Cas to combine the 2 threads; and looking forward to trying out the maps created by this community so do post your maps.

cheers :)

if you go to your user control panel and click on "show your posts" it will find any lost posts; but I'll remember to pm you if this happens again.

cheers :)

Heya Woodfox, just tried out your map and thought I'd pass on some feedback.

Hidden: show
-Pouring the gel into the turrets-behind-bars area was enjoyable (But dangerous! :p Not lethally though, which is fine.)
- I felt like I was bending/breaking the rules of the test chamber at first when I managed to get the cube out from behind the lasers using the gel, which is a good thing - letting players think they've outsmarted you is a good ego boost.
-I had some real trouble getting the cube to stay in the hole - maybe want to glass off a vertical section as well and just leave one part at face-height open for the player to put the cube in? Might keep it from popping out again.
-Having so many turrets in that cage section strongly dissuades players from wandering out in front of them, but if they accidentally do then the combined knockback effects of all those turrets makes it hard to actually get away without being killed. Might want to look into that.

It stumped me in parts for a little bit, while overall I'd have to say it was pretty simple. But that's okay! Keep at it, and keep coming up with ideas! ^_^

I decided to try and make my own map and.... came up with nothing. Might have to brainstorm some stuff with friends :p

good map woodfox, took me a few attempts... comments below

Hidden: show
Using the gel to disable the caged turrets was a good idea of Gnavin, I just portaled in behind them and picked one up knocked the rest down might be an idea to reduce the portalable walls in that room so that you have to use the gel.
I also bounced the cube out from behind the lasers which was perhaps tad to easy.
The turrets under the glass I tried to use the cube as a shield but even crouched that failed, several times. Bouncing the cube through them took about 4 attempts to place the cube correctly which I think was good, re-catching the cube is always fun.
not sure what the white gel dispenser was for but you might want to protect the button for the exit as once you get past those last turrets the puzzle is solved.

nice work :)
looking forward to the next

cheers :)

The editor is good, but it has made making maps so easy that the workshop has been swamped with low quality maps...
