Portal2 Release Date and ARG

Not sure if anybody had been paying attention but valve has another ARG(Alternate reality game) on the go, which going of their comments back in November, should breach the gap between portal 1 and 2. People might remember the last ARG they did back in March last year which eventually gave out a whole lot of screenshots and was the first confirmation of a portal 2 sequel.

It all stated on the first of April when Steam released the "Potato Sack" Collection for PotatoFoolsDay. However in all the 13 games on the collection they released a small patch which changed some small files and added small new maps etc. Much like they did back last year when they added radios that played morse code and SSTV images. People haven't got very far deciphering everything yet so there's plenty of chances to help them out, or simply do what i do and sit back and watch the progress. Jump onto the Portal2 forum on steam and follow the threads for the fun, or simply keep track of the up to date wiki for the ongoing results.

Also The portal 2 release date was upped today on steam, unlocks on April 19th

I've been involved with the ARG wiki just doing some general stuff. I did decode a message and got pretty excited but then realised someone had beaten me too it Was still the first to bring the info to the wiki though. Also I just spend a little time in the IRC channel offering my input and checking out leads. Pretty cool ARG though I must say.

ARG indicates that the game might be released on the 15th instead of 19th (Steam only of course). I sure hope so!

Theres talk that it may be only for those who have either taken part in the ARG, or unlocked certain login screens in each of the Potato Sack games.

Pretty sure you don't have to find them, just load the games up...

You have to earn them, for example the Audiosurf one is earned by getting a gold medal on the Device has been modified song in the Audiosurf radio otherwise I'd have 2 by now

check above link again for more information on how the remaining time is calculated, potatoes are much more useful than playing the games as the more potatoes the faster the increase in the main bar.
