Invisible to to tank proximity scanner?

Unread postby jumboeggbob » 3 Jul 12, 1:29 am

So how do soldiers avoid being detected by my tank's proximity scanner?
Its small details like that I don't know which puts me at a disadvantage. Where do you find all these sorts of details?

Thanks for the link, had a good read. Found nothing about a soldier specialization or kit that makes them invisible to tank proximity scanner. I see it all the time when I'm in a tank so there must be something available.

I've never got an answer to this question anywhere. I can only assume there is no soldier kit that makes you invisible to tank proximity.
So how do I explain the countless soldiers I encounter every day that do not show up on my proximity scanner?

Maybe you just miss them? Do you drive around staring at the mini map? Maybe they just sneak up on you when your attention is elsewhere? its no easy feat to take out an enemy tank on foot but when done right, its very efficient.

Sometimes I do miss them, maybe I'm busy firing at a tank down the road, before I know it I'm surrounded, usually I see 'em on the map for fraction of a second but too late boom I'm C4ed.
What I'm talking about is enemy soldiers I can see with my eyes, invariably a squad that is wreaking havoc throughout the map, running around and around trying to get close enough to C4 my tank, darting here and there, taking cover, reviving each other etc, me blowing 'em away, forward/reverse, forward/reverse, all happening easily withing my scan area, but not a sign of 'em on the map. Plenty of times I see one of them take cover behind something close by, or I see them poke there head out, but they are definitely not on the map.

B, N, M, for what ever I want. No problem with my zoom, usually full zoom though. The proximity sensor doesn't go out very far anyway.

M - Changes map size to expanded.
N - Changes the view on the map to Medium, Small, Tiny
B - Changes the maps look, Satellite, Hybrid or something.
