BF3 keeps freezing

Heys guys
Was wondering if anybody could help me fix BF3!!!! Basically after 10-20 mins of play the game just freezes. PLZ HELP game is sooo goood but i cant play!!!

Q6600 @ 2.6 Ghz
HD 4850
6GB ram
BF 3 running on low

How does it freeze? Black screen? White screen? Can you hear the game audio? Can you close BF3.exe via the Task Manager? Do you have to the reboot entire PC?

Basically everything is running fine then all of a sudden the screen freezes yet the audio is fine, lol and i can here people shooting and my squad running around. Alt-F4 to close and then reload works again for another 20 mins freezes...

Hmm... reminds me of an issue a clan mate was getting with his 560 Ti OC. <10mins play and lockups like yours. He had to drop it down 50MHz and now it is perfectly stable.

Is your card overclocked at all?

Card is running at stock speed

Had a similar problem and and to update my videocard with the lastest firmware

Still get some crashes but can play for more than 5-10 miutes now

make sure you have the latest GPU drivers, but more importantly... SOUND DRIVERS!!! They caused nothing but problems with BC2 and some other Frostbite engined games.

Thanks guys for the advice but i have tried lots of different things, none worked though. Lots of people seem to be having the same issue, guess I'll wait for a patch :/

how high are your graphics set to in game ?

FIXED!!!
I uninstalled all previous graphics drivers and realtek audio drivers(since I have a sound card),using driver sweep then installed the ATI beta drivers and now I get NO Freezes.

Great to hear! My money was on the Realtek driver (can also be caused by network card - realtek ones) causing the problem as i had the EXACT problem with BC2. Even to this day i have not got it resolved basically. Conflict between ATI 6950 and Realtek drivers.

I'm having the same problem Tried changing the settings from high to low, re-installed origin and bf3, changed OS, all drivers are updated to the latest, un-installed realtek sound driver.
Running out of options here, hopefully a future patch will fix this problem.
