How to install BF3 beta with GON download?

Hi

I downloaded the BF3 beta files from the GON download link, but how do I install it to play? I have origin installed, and have an early access beta key from MOH LE.

1. Redeem code and then close Origin
2. Extract the BF3 beta zipped file to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games
3. Open up Origin - should be ready for install

I just did this with the Internode beta file, worked fine.

Open Origin and redeem the key. in your games the Open beta will show 'Ready to Download'.
Don't download but do check where you have set games to download to in the Origin settings (via gear icon).

Turn Origin off

Extract the rar to the download folder.

Then open Origin and go to your games. Instead of the Open beta showing 'Ready to Download' it should say 'Ready to Install'. Go ahead and install it, takes a minute or two.

I tried that, but when I opened origin again it was still showing up as ready to download. There is a folder with my e-mail adress, should I extract it to that folder, or just outside it? my download folder is C:\ProgramData\Origin\DownloadCache

Finally got it, my downloads folder is set to C:\ProgramData\Origin\DownloadCache, but that didn't work, I tried copying the folder everywhere until it finally worked when I copied it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games.

I also had problems because the folder was called "Battlefield 3 Open Beta" instead of "Battlefield 3 Beta". Renamed it, and it found it.

okay instructions are:

Let it start downloading, around 5% for me it recognised the files where installed.

Is there any definite info on how the install will work for non-early-access players?

Sorry smacky, I think you will have to unleash your googlefu - I saw on one forum that people were just changing the extraction path, but I dunno.

If the open beta client is much different, I can only assume that GON will host those files and take down the other files.
