So has anyone else got any feedback on this phone?

I'm due for a new one and was looking at the S3 mostly reading positive reviews but then I read this thread and it doesn't sound so good!

Loving mine. I was amazed at how much faster than the S2 it is.

Picked mine up yesterday, might put some picks up laters for those who might come by here and have a look see...

so far so good, slick and sleek are the words that come to mind, seems to be less clunky than the iPhone4, but it think its more an Os thang than anything else. screens great, and the camera seems to rock pretty hard.

Faster then the s2, feels better in your hand, better screen. Camera seems a good step above as well.

If my s2 didn't go to phone heaven then I wouldn't have upgraded, but now that I have it is better in every way. Notification LEDs is something completely new to me and while a blue flashing light next to the bed at night because you got some automated email can be annoying, it is handy in most other situations.

That was a feature of Blackberry as well back before I changed to the Desire HD that uses sound for email, SMS and Facebook notifications, much harder to sleep through so it is banished to the office unless I need the alarm.

Got one of these the other day and I'm loving it so far! The only thing not so great about it is that I'm getting pretty poor battery life :( oh that and I'm not use to the predictive text that it uses (quite different imo to that of iOS) so my messages are generally allover the place.

Very nice phone though.

Found something pretty **** frustrating with mine. It isn't possible to turn of the shutter sound or the focus sound of the camera.

Some reading on the net tells me that in the US some carrier have the option to mute the sounds, while others don't. Not sure what the deal is in Australia, but I got my phone through optus and there is no option to mute the sounds, neither does muting all sound settings in the phone allow me to mute the camera sounds.

Just root your phone then you can edit the camera sounds.

As in rename the files? That's my plan. I'm new to android with this phone and I was hoping to get away without rooting it, but seems like that's what I'll have to do.

Does anyone know if it's possible to have a 100% stock version of Jelly Bean running on this device and have all of the functions working properly? I love how minimal the Nexus 7's interface is and would like to replicate it but I'm not very good when it comes to this kind of thing. I can flash a new rom but that's about it.

by 100% stock do you mean not a carrier rom?

the only official JB rom samsungs realeased at the moment is 'for/from' poland. if you've got the international S3 (I9300) its pretty simple to update. I've been messing around with it tonight and its pretty slick.

100% stock was a bad way to describe it. I just mean straight up Jellybean with no outside mods whatsoever, like the Nexus 7 runs. Is that even possible?
