I'll be installing an ICS room on my S2 sometime over the weekend, pretty keen to give it a whirl.

Settings -> About phone -> Software update -> Check for update.

Think you need to sign up to Samsung Account though... dunno. Haven't done an official upgrade with Sams Gun before.

CM9.

The only thing not working for me right now is the video recording, but now that samsung have released the kernel sources it is only a matter of time until the cyanogenmod team fix that.

You can get it officially through the phone now BTW, if anyone is still running Froyo.

Updated via Kies (Phone is on Vodafone) yesterday. No real big differences, I think TouchWiz has hidden or removed a lot of the new stuff which is a shame. However, the update was easy and no data was deleted so kudos to Samsung for that at least.

Some annoying things that aren't working include not being able to silence the phone by turning it over and an annoying bug where the share menu in gallery is limited to only a few apps. Favourite things so far include data usage meter, new multi-tasking display and the swiping of individual notifications to clear them. Also a few annoying bugs have been fixed from gingerbread including the voice command popping up when pressing menu from some apps and no vibrating for notifications.

Looking forward to a stable CM9 to flash though, I want to give (pseudo) vanilla Android a whirl.

figured out why i wasn't getting ICS. I have the GT-I9100G not the aussie standard GT-I9100 :(

Did not realise there was a different model depending on the country. So i wont be getting ICS for a while (at least until India or china gets it)

Winamp seems to crash a lot more.

The newer firmware features are schmick though. Love it.
