Just thought I would keep you all updated and let you know that DarkMellie has joined the Minecraft admin team and will now also be able to assist you all

I know I'm only new to the server but I've loved Minecraft for a long time... there's such an amazing community spirit on the GoN server so I'll be looking to add whatever value I can through helping out.

Yeah, no offence taken. And yes, I'm a dude.

As a forum moderator I already hold a position of trust and my actions reflect back on Internode. As I play minecraft regularly I can help with the upcoming holiday influx as well. Handing server controls and forum controls to faceless individuals where that persons actions could damage the GoN brand is a pretty big deal so I assure you that while i might only learn to use the tools slowly, I'll always use them responsibly!

Yes Mellie I know you've been a forum mod for sometime thus why it wasn't trust that was the issue rather knowledge of the game itself. I remember when I first started playing with WG and WE it was a steep learning curve on-top of the game basics and you have just been thrown in the deep end. I'd just have figured MC or Dajar or one of the regulars would have got the promo 1st having been around longer and having a name on the server.

It's easy enough to teach someone we already trust the requisite skills. That's not to say some of the regulars on the server wouldn't make good admins if we needed them though

There are many things we take into account when selecting admins but it is much easier to transfer an existing admin to a game then getting someone fresh. Given the audience for Minecraft at times is much younger than most games we need to be pick our admins carefully.

To learn the aspects of the game will be easy and I am sure Milli will pick that up very quickly, to learn the aspects admining is not as easy and takes time. Given we have school holidays coming up I thought it would be a good idea to quickly get someone in to assist the current team and keep the server as friendly as possible which I am sure most of the parents here would agree.

Just because Milli has been given this position now doesn't mean we wont be getting more admins for Minecraft later. If they are needed and we have to get a few more then certainly we will look to the regular players of the server. Keep in mind 1 basic rule we have is they must be over 18 (not saying your suggestions are not but just saying )
