Land Claim question

Unread postby Soyez » 14 Mar 12, 11:36 am

Firstly i would like to give a big hello to the Minecraft community and perhaps give a little run down of myself.

My name is Peter, I'm 27 and from SA. I have been playing on single player since it was developed but have only touched multiplayer a few times due to my chests keep being raided. After finding out from a friend about the Node server (who is also my isp :D) and having a read of the rules and seeing mods on all the time on the dynamic map I'm keen to make this my home and invest some time into it.

Back on topic:

My friend and i joined the server last night and spent about 3 hours travelling to a remote location in the hope of acquiring a large land plot to claim. We have found a good area and are looking to lay claim to it tonight after work.

As we are aspiring large project builders i am interested to find out about land claim. Is there a size plot that is considered unreasonable? or if you claim a size then exceed that boundary can you re-apply for land extensions? I have looked at (Post subject: Before you ask for protections, please look at this) by Miss.Murder but if there are any extra points we should know about i would love to know before i waste someones time ingame.

Regards Peter

Hey Soyez,

Glad to have you on the server :)

If you're really far out of the way I don't see a problem with a large land claim, it's more the closer to spawn claims that we keep restricted to smaller sizes. If you request assistance in game using /helpop when an Op is on they will be able to help you with your claim.

You can always request the region be resized - just mark out the corners again and ask an Op in game to help you out.

As for your question about whats unreasonable, well, the whole world would be unreasonable. Claiming super huge areas really close to spawn is frowned upon (unless, perhaps, a group of people were making the claim).

Just ask in game and I'm sure someone can help you out!

Thanks for taking the time to read the forums. I'm more than happy to expand regions for people if possible (by this I mean the land next to them is vacant) and I don't protecting large lots that are further out.

Thanks for asking about this Soyez, I was having similar thoughts.

So MM or Giblet, if on the server, can just come to where I am and mark it our for me on the spot? A mate and I want to claim a huge tract to go crazy on.

If we build way out of the way, is there a way to build a spawn so we can easily move between base and home?

Rawr. So, what is the difference between Flatworld and Creative? Or Jungle survivor versus PVP?

You guys play on there all day so it's quite familiar to you... to a newcomer it's really confusing.

Flatworld looks to have a whole HEAP of amazing stuff in it. Do I build there? Or do I build in the area where you initially spawn as that looks player driven too.

Where you spawn is normal world (no creative). Flatworld is where everyone gets creative mode. The other 3 worlds are survival worlds (do anything to stay alive hence the pvp being on). Just pick where you want to build. Everything has signs so its not to confusing :P
