There's a new Tekkit out, which brings the base MC version to 1.2.5. I can't connect to the server with it though, I get "connection reset".

It definitely did some strange downloading for me the first time, then asked if i wanted to update the second time. Server is inaccessible.
EDIT: It may be a dev build, given my launcher preferences. I'm seeing "3.0.0 | 1.2.5 | Latest" in the version selection.

yeah launcher is showing latest dev build for tekkit is 3.0.0 on minecraft 1.2.5. server isn't updated so you probably won't get connected with this new version.

continue to use the recommended build of tekkit 2.1.1

I might see if I can get the server to update, mind you there'll be some bugs in 3.0.0 ;)

have been playing around with technic 7 and it has redpower 2 prerelease 5 which implements "Frames". Frames is going to change the way you make ANYTHING in minecraft

for example instead of putting down one single block that makes a buildcraft quarry, you build the quarry crane and gantries out of these frame blocks, attach motors to them, and put block breakers on the end and run redalloy wire and cables over it and drive it with redstone

that's just one thing, you can make all sorts of stuff that moves around, people have already made entire drivable houses that can fly around and lay bricks in the sky and transform into robots and cars and all sorts of zany things
