TBH at the moment the server pretty much runs itself.. I am dreading MC 1.5. So many lands to plot and stuff :( not that I will be around as much anyways.

I just wanted to ask if the block lag/lag spikes is a client or server issue?

I asked in game today, and they said it was lag spikes, but it just seems to happen all the time for me.

It is probably a creation by someone who doesn't know what they're doing, it's hard to track them down though. I'll see if I can do anything to improve the situation...

Awesome Hydra...

with a pack Like FTB, You would think that they would give admins a tool (for lack of a better word) to see whats causing issues...
and a way to located it in game, so the admin can turn it off.

Rayner, is it just block destruction? What sort of tools do you have?

I found that anything below a Efficiency 2 diamond pick would lag significantly and those above were perfect i.e. High efficiency picks and vajra. Mining laser has a little bit of lag sometimes.

As for placement, it's never been an issue for me.

it was lag all over really...
Block Placement, block destruction (I was mining Stone with a Stone Pick), Items from said Block not showing up, Mobs (Both Passive and Aggro) not moving, and then suddenly speeding up...

I think it is something some one is running that is lagging the server... I know Massive Quarries and a few machines do make lag when left on all the time.

I could be wrong, but that sounds more like network lag. Is your flatmate downloading t3h pr0n? ;)

Maybe check your bandwidth to the server and back?

My housemate has his own internet which he downloads that with :p

but it's happened to other people to the point the server crashed yesterday (According to someone today), so I don't think it's me, or my network.

It seemed to be ok for the first half of the day then all of the sudden it started up lagging again, not that bad, but it was noticeable...

did anyone else get this?

Anyone able to move me away from kharis' place? I was flying around near it and crashed.

Even lowering my view to minimum does not give me enough time to even move 1 block, it's an instant crash :<

really, i've been there all night and not crashed once, it may be mm's place causing the problem, remove the traincraft mod from the pack (not railcraft) and log back in. Apoc and I had to do that when the trains died
