I wouldn't define Search and Destory as an obscure game mode. It's okay to bring personal notions of taste and value into the equation when you're justifying your own purchase of the map pack, but it's not okay for me to do it?
Maxpayne5th wrote:Like I've said before, in the case of the map pack, I got my $15 out of it. If you don't see the value in it, then thats fine, don't buy it. But don't complain if it turns out you now can't play the game because the choice was yours to turn away from it. I mean you don't complain about expansion packs (like BF2:SF or WoW:BC/WotLK/Cata) so why are you complaining on this?
I'm complanining because regardless of whether or not I buy the DLC, my favourite game mode servers are all dead or dying. You're completely ignoring what I've said. In the example I gave my most recent attempts to play on my favourite servers have all been torpedoed by the fact that the server loses most of its players when the rotation gets to DLC maps. If the population goes from 15 to 6 players, I'm not sure me staying in there and making it 7 will prevent the server from dying.
BF2's expansion packs (apart from SF for the extra unlocks) were virtually irrelevant, I recall playing SF a few times, but apart from that almost the entire Australian community just kept playing vanilla BF2. It's also a very outdated example from well before the era of paid DLC and doesn't serve ther discussion very well. I've never played WoW so I can't speak for that.
