Sydney servers have been delayed by a hardware fault caused in shipping, they will be up in the next day or two.

I think he mentioned that something about the black ops servers might make them incompatible with the site's server page, but I could be wrong.

The rcon protocol for the game has been modified from the previous versions and doesn't work.

So you can't currently remotely query the servers so no they will not show up on that page until we can.

probably a stupid question, but any idea when that will be the case Acaila? and I don't mean 'when I get time' kind of answer 3 weeks? 3 months? ^_^

the addfavorite command doesn't work and i can't find the file that the favorite servers list is stored in so AFAIK there is no way to join or add to favorites using the server IP's.

what a mess.

I tried adding "addfavorite ip#" to my config file but that just wiped all the favorites i already had. /shakes fist!

Think whoever renamed the servers might've been coming down from a caffeine high or something.

Most of the servers are named something they're not. For example, #13 says it's FFA in the name but it's TDM in the mode category in the browser.

Secondly, it would make more sense to have "games.on.net #13" than "games.on.net FFA #13" because then sorting via name would be useful and also some of the names are too long which cuts off the number completely.

You can thank the GS.com web panel and dodgy rcon tool for the miss match in server names vs modes. If a server crashes it defaults to TDM and loses its assigned mode.

As for the # in the server name, I'll tweak that and put it before the game type.

Updating all the servers is a slow, manual process however so it will take awhile.

Sydney servers are now online, but the server names don't match the game mode yet.

They are all running in default mode for now, I have to log in to each one and change the mode with the wonderful rcon tool, which for some reason doesn't like me connecting to 70+ servers

Having the website address as the server name can increase traffic / help build the BO community here though. Having hosted countless gaming servers in the past when I used to own a machine, it does help.

They will just have to look into cutting down on the colours a bit (they count for characters) Personally, I'd be doing them like games.on.net #1 TDM [ADL] .. leaving the city/game mode in no colour. Would all fit then.
