Maps Download

I joined the Normal/Long server last night and needed to download a map, after waiting 40 min while it downloaded a 28Mb file, it then proceeded to download a 23Mb file at the same very slow rate. I gave up & quit

Are the custom maps available for download anywhere ? Or can someone post a map cycle list and I'll see if I can get the maps elsewhere.

I think if it's downloading maps the server you're joining has a different patch version than you. If you're game is up to date, try another server. Afaik gon servers don't have any custom maps.

Killing floor did do an update a coupla days ago with Christmas content.. wonder if that's it. My steam auto downloads all the updates..

Did a coupla tests..
All six node servers want to download map/weapon stuff.
other servers let me play immediately.

I wouldn't care if the download was at a decent speed, it reminds me waiting for a download with a 56k modem though.

Right click on your KF icon in steam and go properties>verify integrity of game cache, that will make sure you're up to date.

I just tried that and still got the same message when trying to join GON servers, even tried deleting the entire folder wherein the guilty file was stored and redownloading them, all to no avail.



Shortly thereafter I joined a 3FL server and connected fine, presumably with some people who were either uncommunicative and/or foreign because they didn't respond to my query for information.
