And as a zerg player I find this extremley nice:

* Repairing SCVs now assume the same threat priority as the unit they’re repairing.
o SCV construction movement made more consistent.


No more ridiculous thor/fortress repair!

o -- Infestor
+ Fungal Growth no longer affects air units.


This is pretty bad for ZvZ. Short of having more mutalisks then he does FG was really the only way to kill off clumps of enemy mutas.

• Harvesting units no longer avoid enemy units.


Aww :(

Take the balance changes with a grain of salt however, they are likely to change.

"protoss buff". eh i dont know about that. sure, the decreased observer cost is nice, but it's not that much, and it's not really going to change that much. i get multiple observers anyway, and another 50-75 gas only buys me another unit.

the phoenix thing is nice, but they arent used much because they are tricky to use effectively. they are weak as, do nothing to armoured units, and using them means most people drop their macro. it's nice doing a bit of worker harass with them, but it only works once as they usually just build AA in their worker line. the main advantage will be against mutas, which is good.

the void ray change is interesting, but that removal of flux vanes is definitely a nerf. i dont mind because i dont use voids, but still, mostly a nerf.

i don't think this is going to win a protoss the gsl.

removal of flux vanes!!!!! wtf is that **** .... there too slow w/o them and just get owned , this sux... why do they keep fkin with protoss. :cry:

correct me if im wrong but are they not the weakest race? having trouble winning a game as it is lol

I really like this test client. The idea that they can test units en masse is great. I probably won't be playing the test client, but it's good to know we can get balance patches sooner.

I'm pretty sick of seeing other forums flooded with, "OMFG BLIZZARD WTF THIS PATCH IS DUMB", though. It's as is if they have no idea what a "beta" is.

From what I understand, the void ray change is to bring them more in line with what they were originally intended for, that is destroying massive, high HP units, rather than a base raiding sort of unit.

Balance wise, not sure about the void ray changes, would be interesting to see them in your general army composition against units like ultralisks and thors though.

Also, the pheonix change I think is to make them more viable off of only one stargate rather than throwing down two, making them easier to transition out of.
