Must say, the intro movie was by far the best game CGI i've seen to date.

The intro of the guy getting out of cyro? That was rather boring honestly.

Well he did, not just lose Kerrigan to the Zerg, but:

now believes he has to destroy her. I guess you'd give up shaving, etc after that.

I actually preferred the old cinematics TBH. They were random and nothing to do with the story, but usually focused on horror/action moments. Like the terran workers getting ambushed in their buggy, or the marines holding off against an endless swarm only to have the battlecruisers above them take off and leave them there to get swarmed.

Too much of these SC2 ones were in game and not in CGI like I expected. I at least expected an equal amount of CGI clips as what SC1 had. I think every good bit from the cinematics in game were shown and mixed into the ghosts of the past trailer. The rest was all just talking really and I ended up finished the game thinking 'what happened to the cool cinematics?' :(

Am very interested to see the WoW movie, even though I don't play it. If the whole thing is mostly CGI it should be good.

So, i've been playing the SP campaign and O.M.F.G... absolutely **** how good the cutscenes are. The scene with Kerrigan & Zeratul was just...

It's beyond the quality you see in some movies. Just. Wow.

It's certainly very impressive stuff. I liked the one with Kerrigan on Tarsonis (?) after she's been abandoned. I didn't put that as a spoiler, because it really isn't .. the game tells you this when you're installing! Plus it's revealed in the trailer at the start of this thread I think..

But yes! Most excellent!

This game easily has the best campaign of any RTS I've ever played. Granted, I haven't played many - but mostly because they are often so boring :P

DoW2 was decent, but SC2 takes it to a whole new level..and I'm still yet to finish it :)

Ending cinematic ftw, the zeratul vs QoB is boss tho, needs moar cgi when they release heart of the swarm.

The engine rendered cutscenes look totally different when you up the graphics to ultra as opposed to medium and high. if it wasnt for ~20fps i was getting in cutscenes i would have kept it... damn i need to upgrade.

Its hardly a spoiler when it happened in the first game. They just made a video of it now.

Never played the first one aside from a couple of matches :D Totally wouldn't mind playing it now though! Gotta get up to speed with the entire storyline, methinks!

Didn't think that was actually possible :P

Yes, if you want to best appreciate the story, you need to play the first game.
