Guru3d review up including sli2-3way benchmarks

Guru3d wrote:Bare in mind that a reference GeForce GTX 660 Ti is a good chunk slower then the GTX 670, all the factory OC based products are clocked roughly 100 MHz above the reference clock -- that's what brings it so close to that GTX 670. The 192-bit memory bus definitely has en affect, but being GDDR5 and running at roughly 6 Gbps really isn't as big of an Achilles heel as I expected. The fact that this mid-range product is equipped with 2GB of memory, does help as well as it is a great balance in-between frame buffer needs and 1920x1200 monitor resolutions. We have no doubt though that there also will be 4 GB version of this card.

Also Anandtech's review is up, very interesting points made...

Anandtech wrote:All things considered the GTX 660 Ti is extremely similar to the GTX 670. The base clock is the same, the boost clock is the same, the memory clock is the same, and even the number of shaders is the same. In fact there’s only a single significant difference between the GTX 670 and GTX 660 Ti: the GTX 660 Ti surrenders one of GK104’s four ROP/L2/Memory clusters, reducing it from a 32 ROP, 512KB L2, 4 memory channel part to a 24 ROP, 384KB L2, 3 memory channel part. With NVIDIA already binning chips for assignment to GTX 680 and GTX 670, this allows NVIDIA to further bin those GTX 670 parts without much additional effort. Though given the relatively small size of a ROP/L2/Memory cluster, it’s a bit surprising they have all that many chips that don’t meet GTX 670 standards.

Staticice.com.auis putting price points from ~$360-$440

And if your looking to get from overseas, Amazon is selling fast from the rrp($299) to ~$330 WITH borderlands2, Asus and EVGA might also be doing deals to supply borderlands2 with cards, check sites and part numbers!

Tech power up -"The GTX 660 will be based on the 28 nm "GK104" GPU. It will feature 1,344 or 1,152 CUDA cores, and a 192-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 1.5 GB of memory, according to the report. The new GPU could capture a crucial sub-$300 price-point."

It only has a 6-pin power connect limiting it to 150w total. Performance is to be expected between 570 and a 580, nividia is trying to clear stock of their 570's currently...

Tweaktown has broken NDA on the 660Ti, review is up with many interesting tasty facts on this hot little card...

Image

If it comes in the 300-350 price range, only uses 6pin and allows for sli and out performs a 570,

looks like the box says hdmi + displayport also...

one can only hope...

Hopefully if it can beat a 7870 on Price/Performance it would be a proper win for Nvidia, and most likely my next card :D

Every month or so I contemplate upgrading from my GTX 470 (OC) but I swear there's a new card being released every few months. The whole 'wait till this card comes out' approach isn't to my liking  . Hopefully this card will be the one!

If the distributors don't screw AU over by a large margin, it should definitely be the one to upgrade to!

Hasn't Computex been and gone already?

Also, I'm definitely hanging out for this card. My 560 Ti seems to be on its way out (I have it stabilised for now but I'm not sure how long it'll hold).

that power connector location would actually suit my next build enormously... which is happening in september / october, so if this card is out by august it will be perfectly timed to see whether it fits in the budget also (and maybe seeing the first of the OC versions?)

definately keeping my eye on this one.

I want to get rid of my 6970's as I don't have the time to deal with all the dramas they have come with, well moreso the drivers & CAP profiles. Anyway I'm wanting to go back to the green side after 2 generations with ATI. Would this card compete in this range? It's been a while since I've looked at card comparisons. * Off to google *

* edit* Found my answer, gonna hold out for a while :P

This just dropped into my inbox today. It's the first review and benchmarks.

EDIT: Just looked at the benchmark results. I WANT ONE NOW!

Sitting between a 7950 and a 7970 performance wise and a 7870/7850 price wise, with better performance than a 580.... you would think things cannot get any better...

They just did.

Previously the 460 and the 560 were only able to perform in sli with stock offerings, but if the following story and images are to be believed, it looks like 660Ti's will be tri-sli capable... which is a very interesting move if the card slides in around the $200-$250 price mark.
The last known 560ti to offer tri-sli was the rare GTX560 Ti 448 which was a lower binned/spec'd 570 marketed at the 560ti range, so possibly all those 670's that never made it will be onsold as the 660Ti special edition...

Histerically, 460's in sli trumped a 480, as did 560's trump 580's, if 2 660ti's trump a 680, then three should hopefully sit above a single 680 and maybe round up 580 sli configurations... especially at high resolutions, if it drops with ~3gb of ram.

If this is the case, a tri sli setup might cost around the same, or cheaper then a high end 680 and provide better performance...

very interesting food for thought

I'm most certainly gunna grab two 660's and shove em in SLI.
Assuming the pricing is good anyway.
For everything else, there's Amazon.

That would be today. They're up on PCCG. Woo!

Much more expensive than I hoped they'd be actually. I was hoping they'd sit in the 320-350ish range. Might as well get a 670 for a bit more, although they seem to be remarkably similar.

They're (nVIDIA) still having fabrication problems, so the prices are inflated by shortages and the Australian tax. :|
