- Will be mainly used for gaming and general use.
- Will be grabbing the case and monitor locally.
- Already have a Corsair HX650, so PSU is covered.
- Already have a WD Blue for extra storage.
- Not really keen on the extra $ or wait for the GTX660.

Looks pretty solid to me. Just want another opinion before pulling the trigger.

Upgrading from an E8500 / Asus P5Q / Asus 9800GTX+ / 4Gb Corsair DDR2

Go the samsung 830 over the sandisk, extra $10 for 8gb but the speeds etc are better. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?mai ... s_id=20429

also, $10 more for the 3570K... if your not clocking for 5ghz no reason to not get the 3570K...

nice build either way. the 2500K is a solid performer and the z77 extreme 4 is a great board.

Ori, you don't need a pc upgrade with that friggen home cinema you've got ;)

Tbh, I'd opt for an Intel 120gb 330 or 520 series. There's not a lot in price but they reliability they have currently is great, with a <1% return rate on them.

On a 120gb 520 series you're looking at a faster write speed also, than the Samsung.

Cheers for the heads up on the 3570K.. So out of the loop on cpu tech. :|

Still on the fence with SSDs. They all seem a bit of a much of a muchness..
Cheap is good. Going from a non-SSD system thats 2 years old I'm not too phased.

I concur. If you are going to make the jump to world of SSDs, Intel is the safe bet. Sure you COULD get better speeds elsewhere but you could also lose all your data into the digital abyss.

If you are like me and getting to the stage where you prefer **** to just work then go Intel

As much as I'm happy with my 560ti, and haven't had an ATI card (on two machines) in 5 yrs or so,
if I couldn't wait for the 660ti I'd probably opt for a 7870.
Even a 7850 if short on dosh, as It does better fps @ 1920x1080 (+8fps/BF3 - +15fps/METRO - +7fps/Crysis2).

yeah 560 Ti is still a nice card but it's getting on a bit now, would have squeezed for a 7950 tbh, they have dropped price a bit now.

Let us know how that monitor goes, 3000:1 contrast ratio hopefully means good blacks. :)

U-mart has Gainward 570 for $290 in stock at the GC branch. Pretty good deal....
