PBO media Center and the Fritzbox 7390

Unread postby Sniper 2 » 13 Jun 12, 4:03 pm

Hello,

I used to have the Billion 7401 router and connected my PBO media center to the spare network port. Everything was fine and the media center detected my file server and we could watch videos on the tv.

I recently purchased a fritzbox 7390 and now the PBO media center is very hit and miss. Sometimes it will work fine and most of the time it doesn't.

Sometimes it requires ALL PC's to be on and their passwords entered for the PBO media center to detect the file server.

Other times even that does not work and I am finding it difficult to find out why this is happening.

Does anyone have any sugestions.

On the network tab the router displays the three PC's and a fourth device.
I can ping all four devices but when it comes to connecting to the homegroup the PBO media center most of the times will not display the workgroup.

When I select the uPNP option i can access some of my files on my PC, so the connection is working. The problem is the PBO media center is not displaying the workgroup.

If I copy a video file into one of the uPNP folders I can watch what ever file I place in there. I really dont want to have to do this and this problem has only arrisen since the introduction of the fritzbox the the network

Is there a firewall option in the fritzbox that i need to allow the connection of files from Win 7 64 bit to the media center.

Transferring files between PC's is all working.

Try messing around the the QoS settings. It seems like it may be a problem with the actual computer and not the new modem.. You checked the share settings? Did you have a static IP with your previous router?

Well...........................................

Sometimes I get the workgroup appearing under NET and most of the time I don't.

Doesn't appear to be a folder sharing problem.

When I enter through the uPNP option I can read everything.
