better than average chance that they will. had 2 warranty returns to them, been decent about it each time.

Query before you send it.. have you installed your OS on a different hdd (or started with bootdisk) and run chkdsk off it ? maybe a fdisk /mbr ?

Sorry Blue, I missed that last post.
Chkdsk inexplicably started working again after its inexplicable stoppage with no input from me, no errors when I run it. I hadn't heard of that fdisk /mbr before but after googling it I can't imagine it'd do anything that formatting and starting again wouldn't have also done? Because that didn't solve anything.

I've just sent in a massively long warranty request in telling them all about the problem and that I have no actual proof it's the SSD and that I can't even reproduce the error with any regularity.. I dunno, maybe they'll be feeling charitable.

Edit: Got the standard "send it in" response. So I guess I'll be getting it replaced.

It got sent it off to the manufacturer for further testing and I ended up getting a brand new one back in the mail. One assumes that means they found something wrong.

Fresh install, second time booting; "A disc read error occurred". ****.

Maybe it's the motherboard then. Or a faulty cable maybe. Going to try swapping cables/connections around tomorrow when I can bear to look at my PC again.

Edit: After a lot of fiddling I've ascertained it's definitely not a power supply/cable/connector issue . Currently I've just pulled the one end of my sata2 connected cable off my dvd drive and stuck it straight onto my SSD and it's so far not crapped out on me again, although it is a little slower. Funny that. Interesting times.
