I considered that long ago, but the problem is that i don't have much real estate left on the table for it, it's a miracle in itself that i had enough space to fit the whole keyboard and the mice pad.

Between the numpad and my tea warmer pad, i value my tea more than the numpad in the end... so i just scrapped the idea.

I'm thinking of getting a Ducky shine 2 and skip my preference for a hand rest. Though they are pretty pricey at about $150.
Are they worth the $150 or should I shop around for something else?

I quite like my Ducky I... which was $30 cheaper than the current Ducky II. I think it was worth it.

the Ducky shines are great, but personally I don't like backlit keyboards. Up to you.

Except with the lack of USB ports I have in my machine. I probably couldn't do that. I need a good USB hub. :/ For my keyboard, mouse and headset, and so I don't need to reach behind my computer to plug USB drives (flash drive / HD) in.

The backlights aren't very useful, it would probably annoy me more than anything. I don't need to see keys when I type. If I'm put under 'pressure' to hit a certain key I 'need' to, such as in JC2, when you're jacking something, need to hit a few numbers, I check my keyboard to make sure I'm hitting the numbers, but that's probably because I use the number pad for all my number typing. Not used to where those keys are.

Which is some of the reason I'm reluctant in getting a new keyboard, different key layout, different way of typing.

agreed, I think they're pretty ugly actually and irritating but to each their own.

tbh I reckon that's a good reason to get a mech keyboard because they're all quite standardised when it comes to key caps and layout/spacing. To me the key layout is a lot tighter than most rubber dome boards I've ever tried and I think its great. Only a week to adjust if that really, <3 my Filco :D

You can turn off the back light on the ducky's, I think you can also make it light up the the wasd keys only.

I think I'm going to the up going Blacks.

Why not design your own? Which has an option for a plastic clip-on wrist rest

But on another note, Ducky's are quite popular, I borrowed my friends one when I was looking for keyboards and it was very well constructed. If you're going mechanical and plain, it's worth spending the extra money. I love my Leopold :)

I was a bit skeptical of WASD keyboards. Cool idea, I've just never heard of them before. I don't want to spend the money and it be of poor quality.

I knew about WASD before I knew about Ducky, Leopold or Filco...

Keep in mind that PCCG is the only place to get them from Australia, so unless you were to buy from overseas, if you wanted the Ducky get it from there.

WASD are said to be really well constructed and good keyboards. They are meant to be bringing out a new version soon *Soon being Q4 of this year*.
I just ordered a Leopold FC700R last night, the white version with blue keys. Still not sure which I prefer more, blue or brown.

I caught the mechanical keyboard buying bug :p

I want to try them all, but I don't live near any shops that really sell them. I reckon red would be too light for me black too stiff, clears are so hard to find, green is just coming out.. I'm waiting... errr scrap that, postman just arrived, I just got some POM Jelly rainbow keys.
