This isn't just me, everyone has been noticing the raising levels of lag and rubber-banding on the GON warband servers. It seems to have started in late Nov and it's getting so frustrating that people are preferring to play on the other AU servers which is sad because by far GON has the best administration and nicest maps.

I'm wondering if internode have relegated the warband servers to a low-spec virtual machine somewhere because they figure the game is quite old now? Perhaps they don't realise that we get 30-40 players on the GON servers most nights and that this is at least for me one major reason I'm with internode at all?

Is there any way we can look into this and find out what is going on? something has changed and it's driving people away.

Hey,

The server setup has not changed at all, this is the first time that I have been made aware of such issues.

So I can get a bit of a better idea is it constant lag all the time? Is it only on certain servers or across all 4? Does it spike for a certain amount of time and then go away and come back? Certain maps??

Seems entirely random to me, although I don't play that much. When I was on last night or the night before it would spike, lasting about ~2 seconds, then be fine for 5 min, then another spike. Doesn't happen that often though, GA servers seem worse to me.

Today at around 3pm the server lagged out with approx 8 people playing. Everyone fully DC'd and the server pretty much died. Leading upto there were spouts of lag lasting approx 2-5 seconds happened about 5-6 times over 30 minutes. This was on Battle 1.

Since returning to warband, in the server list all the pings are between 500-2000 but once joining the GON servers I maintain an average of 30ms so not sure whats going on there...

Just now, it would lag when someone killed another player, happened for about 5 minutes before server booted everyone, either crashed or restart, I didn't bother checking if it came back up.

Ok there has been a change to the warband servers. Please let me know if you have any further lag issues (please include time/date)

lagging a little bit now. (GON battle)

10pm 13/1/12 but you can tell this from the date of this post..

Just started lagging on the GoN Deathmatch server. Swings are constantly laggy not much just a little since 2:35pm.

on GON battle #1 just now, it royally buggered up, it would lag, players lose connection to the server but cannot rejoin using the same name, as the server still has the previous session of you logged in. I changed my name and joined back in just to see the original me die in game by disconnecting. Happened 3 times then we all went to GA.

I would say it's better but not perfect. The lag is less frequent but still exists.

You should install registry mechanic on the server, probably fix the whole problem in 20 seconds.

edit: Just to clarify, the last time i experienced lag was on the 14th so it does seem much better.
