most impressive websites? your own website?

what are your favourite websites? flash addicts? jQuery built sites?

are there any web developers out there? if so, do you have your own personal sites? filled with goodies?

I'm working on mine. just got the ajax loading working, pretty stoked, built with jQuery.

the most trouble I have had with sites is making it cross browser compatible (my website for example, doesn't work as expected in chrome - the buttons disappear :/)

Im an electrician/technician by trade but do alot of IT work on the side. Ive made a few websites before but my first paid one was for a local Bar/hotel.

I made using Joomla and used artisteer to make the joomla template. Its still not quite finished, mainly the photo gallery, but the owner was more than happy with it.

I customised a lot of the code on my website. Paid for the graphic design, then spent a couple of months tweaking it.

But I'm afraid to link to it.

My website - I'm a programmer but did some web developer courses at uni. It's written in php and uses a small amount of Javascript. I have a MySQL database and can do AJAX but until I see the need for my personal site I wont bother.

It's still a work-in-progress and have no illusions that I'm the best web designer in the world so be kind :)

I didn't even think of a project page (I think I might 'borrow' it for my site haha)

@revengous

if you're using jQuery you might as well use it for everything :)

like the click function you have:

Code: Select all
$('#home').click(function() {
    return home_Content()
});

even the menu image hover:

Code: Select all
$(".menu img").hover(function() {
    var imgSrc = $(this).attr("src");
    $(this).attr("src", imgSrc.split(".").join("2."));
}, function() {
    $(this).attr("src", imgSrc.split("2.").join("."));
});

no idea what's happening with that bubbleup stuff, but it looks dodgy...i'd just leave it as a hover, but you could try implementing a dock style menu perhaps?

enjoy :)

The click functions actually call jQuery code! inception style! (not really)

Code: Select all
function blog_Content() {
  $("#hide_me").animate({height: "show", width: "show"}, 2500, "easeInOutExpo", function(){
    $("#content").load("blog_content.php",false, function() {
      $("#hide_me").animate({height: "hide", width: "hide"}, 2500, "easeInOutExpo");
    });
  })
  return false;
}

I found this online, and modified it to have the slide loader (which sometimes bugs out, curses!)

thanks for the dock style idea! I think its a great idea!
