Kerbal Space Program

:o Congratulations! :D

I'm still just building strange rockets and seeing how far they get. Then I leave them drifting off into space so the space around the planet is getting a little cluttered with junk... Going to run into some one day, if the simulation can handle adding more and more junk to calculate.

yeah i gotta practice getting into orbit better, i've picked up a couple of techiques by watching youtube vids so i'm going to have a practice at that before my next mun landing :)

hopefully it wont require as much fuel to get to the mun next time i go there. which would mean less parts to try and launch :D

edit: Looks like that update is due out some time tomorrow or Wednesday :D

some time this week at least

after watching a few youtube vids and reading up a lot on space physisics etc.. finally mastered the technique to getting a nice perfect circular orbit :D

still need a bit of practice but got there pretty easily in the end :D

Image

my orbiter spaceship i made just for this. i'm hoping that whenever i decide to re-enter kerbin i can fly it to the runway. but i have a parachute there when that plan ends catastrophically

Image

bit hard to see in that pic. This is just a very simple rocket. 6 solid boosters that gets up to about 7k and all goes away leaving the 3 big liquid boosters and the 1 smaller one in the middle. I'm thinking of adding another tank (or small tank) of fuel to it just to get that extra distance before needing to discard it for the top bit which has more then enough fuel to do anything we want in orbit.

Doesn't seem to heavy it gets up of the ground really quickly and nicely which is what we need to get into orbit easily

Image

i think i may be addicted to this game >.>

I've NEARLY got into orbit around the Mun, but keep losing it at the end.

MADE IT!
Though something tells me my little kerblahbles won't be coming home :'(
No landing gears on this either :D

:D I got the same version of my orbiter ship around a 50k orbit of the mun, i have enough fuel to land it but i don't think they'd make it back :s

i don't have lander gears anyway :(

Update today... maybe. They're delaying it until they can get the download server fixed up properly. latest update about it just said they may have worked out a short term solution for this release :D

0.14.2 has been released so don't forget to update when you have the chance!

or... when the server stops being dead

edit: You'll have to log into the store to download the latest version as the patcher is getting updated as well.

And a nose cone thing for outrigger fuel tanks. Finally! Rockets look cooler now. :)

"* Parts now visually display their temperatures through a dynamic emmissive heat map."
Means engines glow as they heat up now. Also makes rockets look cooler.
Not sure how to get anything else hot enough to start glowing. Air friction doesn't seem to do it yet.

if you've updated and lost all your saved rockets it is because they've changed the ships saves location.

fix this by going to the KSP directory then going into the 'ships' folder. In here there will be 2 folders and a bunch of .craft files, simply move these files into the "VAB" Folder and reload KSP. All of your ships should now re-appear in your rocket factory

If anyone is still playing this, update 0.18 came out recently.

They've added a huge amount of new items, and resources.
Solar Panels, Ion engines, and you can now dock parts together to create a space station, or refuel in space.

Got this game a couple of weeks ago after seeing this thread, so much fun! Here is a satellite I just made, finally managed to get a decent circular orbit for the first time at 100km.

And the delivery rocket:
