I'd like to throw my two cents in;
FIRST:

this radio national topic is well worth listening to. It seems investment in renewables has now beaten investment in the traditional fossil fuel industry. We as Australians may well be lagging behind in some very new and lucrative industries/technologies by being to.. stagnant/timid/afraid (not sure of the right word)..

I'm sure a few of you know i make windows and doors. half our factory is aluminium side, the other side is timber.
I was expecting to see a jump in the cost for our aluminiumextrusions, and so far, not one of our aluminium suppliers have upped their price. I'd have thought my industry being so energy intensive will be at the forefront of any noticable price rise.

things may change, but for now there is more fear mongering in my opinion, than a frank assessment of what the reality is.

I dont know if or when the trickle down effect will happen, but at this moment our "cost of business" really hasn't changed.

I just keep thinking of China during the olympics, and all that smog and pollution, and i think - we really should be doing something about this. We pollute more per capita than the vast majority of countries/
