I usually play through it once or twice at a time, depending on how far I get. Then think about all the ways things went wrong and how I'll do better next time. :)

yeah exactly :)

has anyone else made it to the boss yet? It's one mean mofo.

To reiterate the other posts Viper, the whole point of the game is you start from scratch. Think of it like a board-game everytime you play through and that should hopefully explain it a bit better for you :)

I must say the more I play it, the more I enjoy it. Anyone got the crystal ship yet? That thing is a boss.

Almost got the boss down on my first go...ran out of missiles though. I think my next attempt will be to hammer the shields with every bomb/missile i have until it's down then go for weapons.

What do you guys usually target first on the enemy ships? Is it weapons then others, or shields first etc?

I usually hit the weapons first then move on to shields or O2. I haven't got past Sector Five yet though...

Shields first, then weapons (then drones/command)... and keep the shields down.

yeah, you've gotta go shields first otherwise you can't get enough hits in.

unlocked the Zoltan and Rock ships last night :) haven't tried them out yet though. Kind of worried about how I'm going to fight off boarders with an all Zoltan crew... will defs be buying Mantis crew at every opportunity.

also, I haven't beaten the boss yet but based on the second stage I'm calling it, cloaking is ESSENTIAL.

if this came out on iPad I'd be forced to buy one :P

Zoltan would be ok if you upgraded the doors and concentrated on venting the invaders out into space :D (or just you know... suffocating them :P).

Zoltan ship was fun, and fun to manage as they all give you the bonus power :) I still need to go ahead and give this a solid crack again, just been too knackered after work/sport all week!

I didn't have cloaking on my engi ship when I beat the flagship. Just needed persistance. The 2nd phase with the Engi cruiser was pretty easy. Just kept an anti-ship drone I up, defense drone 1 up and hull repair when needed. And just kept firing off my ion blast 2 and burst laser IIIs.

Cloaking isn’t totally necessary.

I guess if you had hull repair you'd be OK, I've never encountered one with the engi ship though :(

I tend to knock out weapons if I've got enough shots, otherwise shields first.

But the more I play this the more it seems like the unpatched Diablo 3 release. There are some truly impossible ship combinations.

I've been having a crack with the stealth fighter. Love it. Cloak --> Fire weapons at their weapons --> Win. Only issue there is I still had my starting weapons when I came to the boss. Never found any more :(

This is addictive. Best I've done is Sector 5 so far. Trying to work out best things to upgrade to start. Additional shields certainly helps.

Loving this and finding it quite addictive. Managed to unlock the Zoltan, Engi, Rock, Federation Cruiser and Kestrel layout B so far. Easiest way Ive found to having more scrap than i can even use is killing all the crew of the other ship without damaging (or as near no damage at all) to the hull, this ends up giving you really good rewards (i find i get a lot more free weapons or augmentations this way). To do it you'll either need anti-bio weapons, teleporter, ion blaster or bombs (or a combination of them).

Furthermore the final boss doesn't re spawn crew between phases, which means if you can perma tank him on phase one (quite easy with 4 shields, defense drone I and decent evasion) you just teleport your crew into the 4 gun rooms (not connected to the rest of the ship meaning you wont get swarmed) destroy them and its crew, and then focus on the rest of the ships crew. This means you can just teleport your guys straight into the drone room on phase 2 and have no problem destroying it and they cant repair it.
