Endless Space

Unread postby ub3r » 7 May 12, 11:42 am

I have no idea where this game has come from, but after seeing it pop up on a few sites over the weekend I decided to pre-order and play the Alpha on steam.

In it's alpha state it is already more polished than most titles on release, a few minor bugs show up here and there, but nothing that cant be fixed with a quick save and reload. Aside from that it looks to be one of the most promising 4x space games for a long while, and the alpha is incredibly playable already, check it out if you like MOO2 and the like.

Thanks for the links, XViper.
It looks interesting, especially the bit about fitting ships with weaponry sort of like how you do it in Mechwarrior 4.
Could be fun to follow development along.

$22.49 on Steam at the moment, for anyone considering it. :)

didn't realise I had to link you all!

feedback from people playing the alpha is mostly positive, i feel the battles need some work, but the concept they have gone with is intruging

Its usually safe to assume if you don't give people easy access to the information to get them interested, they simply won't bother going to look for it.

Every time I see something like this I hope it will be something as great as Homeworld...

Got it quite enjoying it, hoping it becomes more complex down the track.

I've played a bit of this and it's quite fun. Won by science victory in a 8 player against 7 AI.

Cravers are extremely fun to play when you're just rushing through systems snatching up what you can trying to take out anyone before they get too big. Once I took out a couple of AI I consolidated my research into Expansion / Exploration tree and built up a large fleet. Had systems on auto-manage and watched them be Terraformed one after another while it was also removing negative perks from the planets.
