The Confines of BioWare's Liberty

If you're as big into BioWare's wares as me...

http://au.pc.ign.com/articles/121/1217459p1.html

Of possible interest to Marius, especially. There is a picture of Leliana in there.

It also prompted a really interesting discussion at BioWare's official forums: http://social.bioware.com/forum/Mass-Effect-3/Mass-Effect-3-General-Discussion/The-real-reason-IMO-old-school-fans-are-worried-9107046-1.html

Fantastic article. And yes, nothing can actually kill Leliana... She's the Dragon Age equivalent of Johnny Cage.

Yeah, I've had my own problems with Bioware's railroading. It's hard, to write such a big choose your own adventure story, for sure. But they do seem to write off many seemingly big events as trivial in the interests of plot.

For this reason I prefer The Witcher series. It's more railroaded, but it's *deliberately* so, rather than pretending to be all about choice. You can clearly see the devs want you to think "Well you get this great story with one of two outcomes" instead of "You get to make all these choices that will be overridden in the next game."

But both games still suffer from writing out the best redheaded love interests in sequels.

Guuuuuys, thanks for reading! I thought everyone was ignoring me. I was pretty chuffed to be able to get all that out. I possibly overthink the intricacies of gaming. Just a tad. Haha.

No I just don't check this forum section very much. :P

You have a great writing style there. Mine is more upfront and direct.

If I may indulge in some return back-pats, MARIUS YOUR LEGAL COLUMN IS RAD. It's a real draw-card for the site, I feel. I've often wondered why I don't see more of your stuff about the place.

*slow clap*

This, is excellent.

It is rare I use that specific word. This time, it is not only warranted, it helps define that word.

Write more.

Thanks. :P

I've been thinking of doing more game journalism, actually.

But was just commenting that I am pretty incapable of doing the more prose-like stuff. Even my fanfic of a Kelly and Leliana crossover is power pointed. Different voices -- yours is very unique. :)
