i have a feeling that is exactly why they put that into the crafting though,

the question is now whether Cryptic was just probing and testing the water (to see if the players will accept it or not) or if they are committed to the plan and count on player's reaction to subside and normalizing.

I put all that down to dramatic stuff (creative license etc) used for a cutscene.
Though I can also see that from the point of view of someone why hasn't played the game, they could misinterpret what the game can do.

That's marketing for you!
Though I find it interesting and yet not surprising regarding Atari.
No wonder the game felt like a free to play game. Atari wanted to milk it as much as possible.

I feel vindicated in my hate for Atari LOL

Jan 17 is official date for F2P.

Though am a little disappointed that actual stuff won't come out till after :(

They will be putting a lot of changes onto Holodeck in December (like the DOFF system).
They'll also start giving the 400 CP.

I was also wondering: could a separate forum section be created for Star Trek Online (like the other MMOs)?

So most of these changes are now on the Live server Holodeck.
They'll also be starting the stipend this month.

Been playing my eng captain - I like the linked missions, it certainly makes it easier to play through, and there is now a Skip button so you can skip a mission you don't like.

Mr_Cyberpunk wrote:I like the new skills system, loosing most of the skills though makes the RPG mechanics a bit more dumbed down, is much better than having a hole stack of dump skills that did pretty much **** all. At least these new ones are actually useful.

I like that you can now actually afford to put points into ground combat instead of specing purely for Space.

I badly want to give some of the new PvE and PvP modes a go.

New Running animations for females is good.

The Dilithium system is bloody confusing and poorly documented.

Yea I like the Space Skill update too. It's simplified. There were too many skills before that made little sense. At least now you know what you are speccing into. Ground Skills update should be coming in soon so there will be a respec coming in again soon.

I've played the mirror universe invasion on tribble - that was kinda interesting and cool, and you get to see the mirror version of the new Enterprise ship.

The animations are quite good - some people have been complaining about them (but that's normal for any changes). But I think they look a bit more natural and "normal" (I'm sure they were previously copied from Champs).

Yea the dilithium system still needs work, and its typical of Cryptic to not provide enough information (up until skill revamp I still did not understand anything they wrote in their skill description and other tool tips).

I still think Cryptic needs to create some sort of LCARS computer system ingame that works like lore books (like in Warhammer or DA, even in SWTOR) or other similar systems work in other games - where you can go and look up any sort of information you need.

Have you tried out Q's Winter Wonderland?
You have a chance to "win" the Jemhadar ship.
Haven't got one yet :( bloody RNG

In the next week or so they'll be releasing the ground skills revamp on tribble.
