What Did You Think of…: Spec Ops: The Line

Unread postby PinothyJ » 31 Jul 12, 4:43 pm

I am on the fence on this one. Not in what think of the game but whether I should buy it. A good/great/amazing/orgasmic game might be one thing, but the real question is whether it is better than my -- almost obligatory for any gamer worth their salt -- pile of unfinished and unstarted games (Context: I just finished ME2 :P).

So tell me: what did you think of Spec Ops: The Line?

Also, we need a gaming sub-forum for non-first person shooter action as this would be perfect in there…

The themes of the story had more depth than usual however the story itself wasn't overly spectacular, on the gameplay front it was average but did enough to hold the game together without feeling too 'i've played this before'.

Yeah, but am I going to get anything more in-depth and morally poignant than I will get from a Metal Gear Solid title?

It hardly seems worth the worry…

Can't help you there, I don't have a playstation and I don't remember anything about MGS; that is apart from being a box, smoking and trolling guards.

Nothing is as complicated as Metal Gear. In story, morals or depth.

However, it's good. The story is compelling. The gameplay is for the most part smooth. The graphics are GORGEOUS and it's got that hook that makes you want to keep playing.

Only played the demo, glad i didn't waste money buying it. Very underwhelming IMO. Promised more than what it delivered.

Well... yes, the demo was unable to grab my attention at all. Its a better judgement of the game then simply reading reviews etc.

I disagree. It's the story that is the most captivating part, not the gunplay. Although that is mostly pretty seamless (at times frustratingly difficult, but nonetheless.)
