GON#2 Map Cycle

I think its fair to say that lately, there has been more interest in GON#1 while voting has been enabled, because maps other than the usual cycle can be voted in. This causes a little conflict with the regulars who just want the standard cycle. Looking at gametracker.com, GON#2 doesn't seem to be used too much - how about putting a new cycle on GON#2 that goes through the popular alternate maps?

What about -

ut4_granja
ut4_filtration
ut4_suburbs
ut4_sliema
ut4_village
ut4_terrorism4
ut4_laneway4_beta
ut4_pgrounds

a couple of other maps that were (sometimes) popular were:

ut4_druglord2
ut4_swim

Ramelle, Eagle and Mandolin where occasionally voted in but tended to make people leave, so I don't think they would be good choices.

The above were the most popular maps. I know people will like most of the maps above, even though like me there are 1 or 2 they wish weren't there.

Maybe admins would consider adding a couple of maps to the server?

Oh and I suggested this one on WC servers as well, though I doubt anyone is going to put it in rotation. I don't even know how well it would play... but it does look pretty cool.

I'll check those maps out you've suggest (eww, orbital :(). I'll get them added if they seem ok.

As for changing the map cycle, it's probably best to let the server rebuild its popularity before trying to change anything.

Good idea.

Looking at the GON#2 page on www.gametracker.com, I still haven't seen any big lift in the number of people using it. Why not give an alternate map list a trial and see how it goes? The alternate maps are fairly popular when voting is left on, maybe GON#2 will see some more usage.

sounds like some good suggestions in there for maps..

yea i have turned voting on when i have been in game and turned off when leaving, seems to get used a little when you tell people its on :D

Good to see my initiative is still going Khaotik :P

I used to allow nextmap voting only, as it kept the continuity of the games going.
