I am confused at the hate and bad review scores this game is getting. Truly I am baffled.
I just finished my play through, and given the game is not revolutionary in anyway or anything benchmarking, I most definitely enjoyed it. I found the game fun, especially coming out of playing through LA Noire which in many ways i found to be a great game but by the end of it felt like a grind. I thought the pacing was good enough that i didnt find myself getting bored of the one thing. I thought the shooting mechanic wasnt bad and sluggish like others have said it to be, nor did i find the driving that way (i should state, it most definitely wasnt the best shooting mechanic or driving but it wasnt the worst by any means imo). I thought the shrinking was a lot of fun, both duke and the rc car. I thought the interactivity was enjoyable and changed the pace up. I found the puzzles to be old school, but still satisfying that there were puzzles and another good change of pace. I also found playing it on PC that the graphics were not benchmark, but they were not bottom of the barrel either. I had a lot of fun playing Duke again, his little witty quotes and overall attitude cracked me up.
I been playing Duke since 1992, Duke 1 and 2 and 3d .. didnt play the spinoffs. I am the type of person that plays Multi but I love a good SP and I play nearly every title to come out. Going by IGN, how on earth Duke got 5.5 and Homefront got 7 is beyond me. I honestly dont understand. The fact that someone can enjoy Call of Duty singleplayer (not Cod4, WAW & BO) over this bewilders me.
Given I would give a game like LA Noire 7.9, I would give Duke Nukem Forever 8.1.
Is there anybody else there that feels the same??
