From the half-glimpsed origins years ago online of a sweet aliens vs space marines done right, to my now having pre-purchased the game, knowing a lot more and downloading the beta as I type Natural Selection II has been on and off my radar for a while.
For the uninitiated the original was a Half Life engine mod, with both FPS trooper gameplay and a single RTS style Commander role. I believe the sequel started as a mod but now has a full game engine.
The idea of finally having a kickass multiplayer cross between RTS and FPS really tickles me, with the added fantasticness of being infused with aliens-vs-space-troopers.
Anyone else?
