BC2: Vietnam - where's my darn music?

Unread postby Bennett Ring » 20 Dec 10, 8:14 am

So here I am, sitting in my trusty old whirly bird, waiting to blast some "Ride of the Valkyries" over the misty valleys below, as me and my squad spread capitalist righteousness courtesy of our barking M60s, but instead I get nothin'. No music from vehicles, no propaganda at bases. Nada.

What's the dealio?

A quick Google reveals one solution:
"Go into the config file in your BFBC2 folder called Game Settings and set CarRadio=1"

Ok then:
a) I don't have a config file called Game Settings in my BFBC2 folder
b) I do have a GameSettings config file in my users/My Documents/BFBC2 folder, but it has no line referring to CarRadios.
c) So I figure I'll add the line in that config file. Save, close, start game - still no music.

Anybody got any other ideas of how I can get my groove on in the 'Nam?

Apparently I'm not alone in having no music - considering this was one of the bullet points in all the marketing material, the lack of working music is slightly embarrassing.

I had this problem last night and DID fix it by changing the car radio setting to 1 in my gamesettings.ini file.

I'm running Windows 7 and there is a Documents folder at this location:

C:\Users\your user name\Documents\BFBC2

The following is the top section of my gamesettings.ini file and the car radio line is the second of the GstAudio (I've only copied the audio part) settings, as you'll see:

[GstAudio]
DialogueVolume=0.370000
CarRadio=1
VoipEnable=1
OriginalVOForEnemyTeam=1
MusicVolume=0.600000
VoipPushkey=1
SoundSystemSize=2
VOLanguage=1
Volume=0.580000
VoipRecieveVolume=0.500000

Hope this helps mate...

should be in the gamesettings.ini 3 lines from the top

[GstAudio]
DialogueVolume=0.700000
CarRadio=1
VoipEnable=0
OriginalVOForEnemyTeam=1

you may also need to adjust the music volume so you can hear it

Sorry for the dumb reply but don't you need to press X in a vehicle to play music?

You press 'x' or whatever the cycle radio key you have set up for it to go through the songs, the problem is that unless car radio = 1, then you get nothing at all.
