Yeah, I don't want to participate in beta or anything. Not even play the Demo (if one comes out). I was to leave it all as a suprise for when I buy it.

Is it worth pre-ordering say via WOW, is it normally cheaper? And if so does that mean I will need to wait for it to be posted to me as opposed to going to my local game store to purchase and get a copy immediately on the release day?

WOW is pretty cheap but it can come at a cost of waiting for the game to arrive Usually 1 to 4 weeks depending if they are sold out, I've waiting up to 5 weeks for some games last year because of this fact and waited until had to get more stock.
So it really up to you if you want to pay for it cheap and happy to wait it out until it arrives or just go out and buy it from your local store and play it on release date.

That's what I thought. I wasn't sure on the length of delay in getting it posted though. I feel a wait of one week alone isn't worth it (I can't wait for this game). So with it potentially being weeks I'm pretty sure I'll buy direct over the counter.

Thanks for the info.

The EB Games at The Village are pretty slack in terms of getting games on their release date. Just a heads up.

Thanks. I work near the city so I'll try there or at TTP. (or even anywhere in between)

Cheers

not quite nade spam though because you actually had to reload, second of course that RPG being a direct fire weapon which means if he can shoot you then you can shoot him...

all things considered, it's probable that it'd be comparable to AT soldiers of BF2 minus the guidance which is acceptable... nade spam is on a different level of annoyance.

btw as far as i know of there are no jets for us to control, jets possibly come into play as a call in ie: airstrikes but otherwise rotor gunships are about all we have in the air that are player controllable as far as i know of.

Interesting info I noticed:
There's 3 types of launcher now, 2 that can lock onto tracking darts (the RPG which is AT and the Gustav which is AP) and the M136 which works allot like the AT in BF2.

aye, but all things considered their effectiveness in an anti personnel capacity so far have not warranted a status as annoying as grenade spam or anything of that magnitude.

SlazzaAU:
well technically planes in BF2 are such more because of the incredibly useless AA system in the game (both static and mobile, makes little difference both are equally useless in the game in their respective role). That and giving the fighters ground weapons on top of the AA missiles have got to be one of the dumbest idea.

and there's also that gunship that ate a tank shell and lived still...

still surprising why seemingly obvious pitfall in game design which one would think should be clear to a sane mind with just a little testing can slip through.
