Which is what I prefer, but some people I know don't want to install it.
But as I figured out with a mate who was initially having problems hosting a server online and then found we had to use gameranger for him to host only to discover that it didn't support voice chat either and that the thing we were using to communicate with mainly (which was steam chat) has voice functionality built in.

Who doesn't have steam these days? Even if your Borderlands wasn't the steam version you could still use it. And you just had to invite people to the conversation and everything worked.
As for the game, my gs details are :
Account : Bickteybambam
Lvl 50 Hunter, Lvl 37 Brick and Lvl 37 Siren.
Also have a Lvl 4 Soldier but I'm holding off using him till Ralph gets his copy of the game later this week. :p
