Nezekan is Full

Unread postby Dexterian » 22 Sep 09, 8:07 pm

Holy damn... it appears the server is full! I'm currently in a queue to join the game. I hope there's a population cap on the servers or something because at launch it's going to make many many oceanic players unhappy.

i never played WoW so im new to queues, never had to be in one.. you guys are probably used to it, and say its a good thing (wtf?) no its not. this is just f*cking **** i payed for the game and a subscription and i cant even play when i want to. they let too many people create characters on the server.

lucky i have 2 moniters, also windowed mode is win!!

but still, its annoying.

you rage at first, but after playing mmo's for a while you get used to it and shrug it off.

Not used to them enough to shrug them off. Having played WoW from Beta through to WotLK I was only ever on a server preBC that had a queue, just rerolled on another server and that was that.

Eve sometimes get 5min queues etc, but at the moment I am sitting in a 1+hr queue and not liking it at all.

To say it is a good thing is redonkulus, it will just mean less people playing it after one month and possibly shorter queues. NCSoft have said they are looking at additional servers with a new US one coming up next week, but that doesn't help the 8 or so other servers that are commonly going to have queues from now on.

They added a server only last night, seriously of ALL the problems a newly launched mmo could have thrown at you you actually think having queues is a bad one? omg man

what did you think of the four hour lootlag and chestboarding around in wow for over a year?,... seriously a queue is your big issue, yes it is a good thing, it means we prove we have enough for another server. Numbers = everything. if west servers are queued the chance of actually getting a west server increases. then maybe just maybe a oceanic...

actually come to think of it, i remember having to log onto wow for 40 or so minutes ahead of raids for considerable periods, i remember logging into friends accounts on my laptops, 2nd pc so i could get them through the queues before getting back from work.... hey look mobs spawn they have full animations!!...

I remember the first time WoW had the queue problem - lasted for MONTHS! Hell there are still some queue stuff even now, but not as much (and this is a 4-5 year old game).

Just hang in there as some people will migrate to other servers eventually.

All I have heard is WoW queues were worse.

As I have said, I never experienced WoW queues this bad. When I did have a queue of 20mins or so I just swapped servers. Spirestone didn't get queues ever.

Also how can anything be worse then not being able to play the game at all? Explain to me how being in game doing 'anything' is worse then not having the option to play your character at all?

New servers will help people choose a different server but as there is only 1 +10GMT server won't do much to help with lag on Nezekan.

In short, didn't get to play Aion this weekend as queue times were too long.

To top it off my alliance in EvE got a War dec and so all I was doing there was moving ships around/getting ready

When WoW queues were into the hours (think i have a 6 hour queue timer somewhere) after an expansion release they were definitely worse than this.

Relax, natural balance and new servers will take hold, popularity always wanes after the honeymoon period is over - Then you can complain that it is too empty.

I like full servers. Better then an empty one that's for sure. I didn't mind waiting for an hour or so to log into Aion. I just did other things while i waited, like visit the GON forums :D

Just for the sake of answering that question;

If you were on WoW release, you would've experienced what people have described as "slideshow-WoW". Not only was everyone teleporting around, people were also dying, not getting quest items dropping, no mob spawning, rubber-band effect and disconnects.

It's pretty much equal to "not palying" as there is no progress to whatever you were trying to accomplish. This is why people say "I might as well have not been playing that time".

Queue limits are nice as it preserves performance for the servers and makes the server stable. If the queue is unbearable then yeah its best to just switch server.

Yep just jump on that other GMT+10 server. Oh, wait.

Also, it's not so much the queues that are unbearable. It's the prospect of having to go through all that grind with multiple characters.
