Time for a change.. Home gym time.. But what gym to get ?

Unread postby Bluefire » 10 May 12, 12:02 pm

Decided its time for the wife and me to get into shape again.. gyms here are **** for price, times and equipment..
Got bag, gloves, bikes, eliptical and weight bar and bells already..
So cardio wont be a problem..
Wouldnt mind a rowing machine but it can wait..

Problem is when I moved I left the frames behind.

Think Im better off buying a premade chinup bar/squat rack or welding my own up ?
Kinda leaning towards my own.. but Im not sure how I would go at making my own bench for it, Im not so good with leather work or sewing..

Anyone know a decently priced frame with inclined pullup/chinup bar, squat rack, flat/incline bench that is premade ?

Current mental plan I have for welding my own up is causing me some issues with catch bars for squat rack causing issues with putting the bench inside the frame, think I can get arround it with removable catch bars but was counting on fixed bars for stablity.
Space here is very limited but I would prefer two people be able to use it at once.... Unless I want to set it up as an outdoor gym which brings its own problems.. theft, spiders, temps, rain and rust.

to be honest, i would just buy one. already tested for strength and durability, has the catch-bars and all that gear sorted... worth it

Yeah, still looking for one that has everything I want, doesnt include the gear I already have and is a resonable price. Havent found it yet..

No longer concerned about strength if I make it, already worked out a modular system with removable catch bars in order to get the bench in, it would have a good chance against a car as long as either bench or bars were in place.. making it small enough to fit inside and large enough to be usable by 2 people at the same time is where Im stuck atm.

well if you've got the gear to weld something up I'd look at doing that. Gym gear can be ridiculously overpriced sometimes.

also, get a set of rings to add to ensemble, you won't regret it!
