Well looky here men; it's that time of year again!

Unread postby Onyx » 3 Nov 10, 11:32 am

Yes that's right, after a year of hard training, uncle Onyx is going to diet his **** off (literally) again this year. There are a few reasons why I'm doing this:

-I like a challenge
-I want to see how my body has changed/improved since last time
-I like having a beach bod 8)

I'm not going to go into great deal of my exact diet/exercise regime (unless anyone else would like to participate in this diet with me, but I'll list the basics.

Diet:
-At Least 4 liters of water per day
-Puffed oats with water
-Tuna
-Brown rice
-veggies: Carrot, lentils, sugar snap peas, broccoli
-Kangaroo
-Chicken/turkey breast
-Egg whites

Exercise:
-4 days a week at the gym (usually 3, but throwing in another one for a proper ab workout)
-5 km runs x6 a week.

At the end of my diet last year, I got down to 65.1 kg

At the end of my diet this year, I'm hoping not to be far (if at all) below 70 kg

My official weight is: 75.5 (updated from 79.3 kg)

I'll be posting ITT from time to time just to keep anyone interested on my progress updated.

If anyone has any questions, comments, suggestions, feel free to ask away.

Egg whites are glorious for the human machine.

Egg yokes, not so much.

However, those yokes can help make some killer rich Italian pastries ..

They're also good with a team of oxen.

Yolks, on the other hand, can be used in all kinds of dishes and baked goods. ;)

Egg whites aren't glorious if you are intolerant.

I'd eat the whole egg. Lots of good stuff in the yolk.
I'm guessing you are going for a no fat diet. I'm not sure that is actually better than a low fat diet.

Maybe you could try eatinng whole eggs for a change and compare? Would be interesting to see if you notice any difference.

I'm only having the egg whites for the low carb, high protein value. Last year I had a no fat diet and I was really happy with the results at the end, so I'm not particularly keen on changing it to add anything fatty...

Maybe after the end of it while I'm still close to my peak, I'll try another diet and have a bit of a play around with different types of foods and see how they affect my weight. That way I could be more confident about the next time I decide to get cut.

Onyx if you're expecting the same kind of definition this time you should do one of those "a photo every day for X-days" things and make a slideshow or whatever, I'd also be interested in seeing what it does to your lifts (assuming you're fine posting a training log at the end).

Although that's a pretty cool idea, Nekosan, I don't think I have the motivation to take a photo of myself for a couple of months. That and the fact I don't have a camera available to use will make it pretty tough :P (I'll see what I can do though...)

By the end of my diet, I will have changed my training style to be high intensity rather than lifting as heavy as I can. I did it last year and it really helped strip off the remaining excess weight quickly. I'll be more interested to see how long it takes me to be back lifting what I am now.
