Or words to that effect.

$150 fix including labor :D

Would that have been the Idle pulley or tensioner pulley bearing they're referring too?

Maybe the bearing on the power steering pump pulley. So it runs a separate belt just for power steering?

When the belt on my magna power steering pump bit dirt that thing became almost undriveable it was so bloody heavy on the wheel! Lucky your ute wasn't!

Only one belt for that model of falcon and the pump doesn't have a bearing, I was just curious of the exact fault. Don't mind me lol.

Actually, tell you what. I'll go out to the car and grab the receipt, BRB.

Back. I love this mechanic.

Customer Requirements:
"Check for funny steering"

Result:
Found idler pulley on power steering belt to be seized and the belt was not turning the pump.

Action: Replaced belt and idler pulley.

There you go mate

No worries gents, he said they opened the bonnet and turned the wheel and hear a squeak - which I'd never noticed inside the car and this is evidently a dead give away for that problem :D
