I'd spend less and get an Audi R8. It won't break down on you and it would be much better mannered for a 100,000km trip than some Lambo :58_59:

I'd spend less and get a Porsche GT2. You can actually drive it on normal streets and it would be relatively easy to park ;) Plus Audi and Lambo are one and the same. Half the high powered Audi's use a modified Lambo engine not to mention other parts :)

.... not to get picky... but the R8's 4.2 is an Audi 40valve V8, the 5.2 is also an AudiAG developed engine based on an Audi design.. Also, the 5.0 in the Gallardo is the first engine developed after AudiAG took over Lambo... so none are really a Lambo engine.

....and if you really want to get picky, they are all VWgroup engines regardless.

It doesn't say anywhere that he didn't maintain the car.

It's an incredibly highly strung piece of machinery, these things happen. It's unfortunate, but that's what you have to take into consideration when you buy a car of that caliber.

For everyone saying they'd buy something cheaper, or easier to park... You're completely missing the point.

The entire romance (or insanity) of the "dream" is that he bought his DREAM car (an exotic supercar) and drove it into the ground.

**** good on him. It's about time someone who wasn't a poxy rich wanker took one of these types of cars out across the country and drove it until it popped.

This guy will have stories none of us will ever dream of being able to tell.

Edit: Oh and that article is written in Miles... 1mph = 1.6kph (or thereabouts) 100,000 MILES = 160,000 KM's

Not really, cars and what you do with them are personal opinion/preference and nothing more.

Never had a problem with either the car or what he did. Quite awesome and very brave of him but I would just prefer to do it in a Porsche ;)

Good on him. Personally I don't know anyone who has their boyhood dream car at my age :icon14: #featherincap

This was foretold when Ralliart was closed down. I am honestly surprised Subaru continue with the WRX/WRX STI. It cannot be cheap for smaller motoring companies as these two and their Volume versus cost to produce probably isn't great.

Agreed that it is a shame. While I am a Subaru man through-and-through I always appreciated how good the Ralliart/Evo Mitsu's were.

:| i thought ralliart was picked up by prodrive... and even more odd considering the mitsu. group holdings...

thought they would have gone out with a bigger bang than just the evo x...
