Was thinking the same thing... thats around 250-60 at the fly if i'm not mistaken, as far as i knew they were 206 at the fly standard, correct me if i'm wrong.

Is that the 'gentleman's agreement' of 206 flywheel kw's that Japanese manufacturers were expected to adhere to?

I doubt very much if any of those cars actually made only 206kw. Most of them made north of 240kw, but they only quoted 206kw.

i thought that was just an agreement for the EVO and WRX?

evo's were rated at 206 and in general they were pretty close to that.

the supra's and GTR's however were tested and were proven to go over that agreement not sure what the NSX clocked in at pretty sure the RX7 FD's were just over the 206kw, the gentlemans agreement is no longer in place anymore anyways.

'gentleman's agreement'

hmm, i might be wrong, but i always thought it was to do with Article 9 in Japan's constitution along with the impositions of trade and industry that was put into place be McArthur and Allied forces that restricted the KW/HP per tonne of the motor's and what not produced by japan's industries....

After this imposition ran out in the mid 90's it was re-imposed by the industries as a fair trade agreement, this is why the cars created in the 90's are somewhat different in power-to-weight ratio than the earlier and subsequent models...

but yea i dont think it is in place anymore do to the change in the market and the shifting of the automotive industry.

but alas, i digress...

I did one of those rally school driver training things a few weeks back... jumped in a 2006/7 model subbie for 7 laps, best load of fun i've had in a while.. i want thier job!

working at a mercedes dealership does have a couple perks
http://www2.mercedes-benz.com.au/content/australia/mpc/mpc_australia__website/en/home_mpc/passengercars/home/new_cars/amg_showroom.flash.html

outa the AMG range ive only NOT driven the clk55 and the cls 63
just last week i took the c63 estate around the block...
/me drools

they look soo much better in the flesh so to speak. and getting in the cars the seats literally hug you (the seat side wings are motorised and hold ya)
tho in the case of the estate wagon, i couldnt justify spending 165+k on car when i could nearly get a house in town for that much

Most expensive car would be my cousins HSV VX GTS Coupe. This but red:

Fastest is either that or his extremely worked VL Turbo. I drove him to pick up his GTS from APC Enhancements this morning - $9k later on a few upgrades but I'm yet to drive it since though so I'd say it'd blow the VL out of the water now!

EDIT: Most fun would probably be the VL actually this is another indecision :P
