I tried that, but I have both the "Friend of the Night" and "Night Person" perks, and while the daytime surrounds and sky is gorgeous, the night time was just too dark for me even with those perks. I ended up removing it for now.

That's really good, makes a big difference on the screen.

Goacbcs Freeplay after MQ

====================

Here is an Inventory Sorter that renames all the gear so it sorts in your pipboy better.

Here is a fix for the Veronica companion. She doesn't level up with the player like the other companions and ends up getting taken out a lot. This fixes that.

And not for everyone, but this one you get a Perk at every level.

The body model replacers were always huge on FO3 Nexus, so it's easy to understand. Have a look at some of the most popular add-on quests for FO3, they will be around prostitution/sex etc for sure (I haven't looked for a while but I bet they are).

I'm really enjoying the realistic lighting mod. Bethesda's interpretation of Fallout is way too washed out. Fallout 1 and 2 weren't like that, and you would think that after more than 200 years after the war there would be a bit more colour in things. .

Not so sure about the perk every level though. Fallout 1 had perks every 3 or 4 levels. :P

What I really want is a mod that'll change the item menus when buying/selling to be the same as when you just open it up in your pipboy. Long scroll is long.

New Vegas 4GB Enabler. http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35262

Allows the game to access more than 2Gb of RAM. From what I've found, it helps with texture loading.

going to try out the extra ram enabler later on and see if it helps. I've had a couple crashes but they have been after an extended period of time so this could help if it's running out of ram.

I tried the 4gb mod for a bit and turned it off. It didn't noticably improve game performance and shortly after turning it on, experienced a crash. The game doesn't crash at all while only using 2gb.

Could have been a coincidence, but I got more stability with 2gb.

I've been using it and I've found it works fine for me, and I get less fps drops.

Ah very nice. Think this thread has a good compilation of the most essential mods now.

I have no idea how people play Bethesda games on consoles. :dizzy:

Some good mods recently released:

Companions Teleporter

This gives you an item to summon your active companions to your side, in case they wander off and get lost in a building.

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/ ... p?id=36523

Companion Weapon - Casino Fix

This stops the bug where a casino will sometimes permanently confiscate weapons from your companions.

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/ ... p?id=36563

Immersive Sneaking

Removes the hidden-caution-danger indicators from your HUD when sneaking, making you have to make a judgment as to how close you can get.

Another favourits that really adds to immersion.

Darker Nights - Brighter Lights

Add-on mod for the URWL Realistic Lighting mod. Requires that mod (see above posts for the link). This is the best of all the 'darker nights' mods.

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/ ... p?id=35315

It does 4 things:

1. Darkens the nights.
2. Brightens artificial lights
3. Adds more aritificial lights around settlements
4. Adds a pair of night vision goggles to some vendors (they cost a hefty amount of caps and can only be worn with lighter helmets that allow glasses).

The night vision is the best I have seen:

And remember if you hold down tab (or B I think as well) you can turn on your pip boy flashlight, so the night vision isn't strictly necessary.
