FO3/Broken Steel ending

Unread postby Wrangl3r » 10 Jun 09, 6:10 pm

Just played through the end of the main quest with broken steel content enabled and all I can say is YAY
Finally I got the ending that I was wanting when i first finished the main quest. I must say I am looking forward to palying through the rest of the wasteland now and getting my character over level 20 :D There is now a chance that I will be able to make to 100 points for the lockpick skill :P

 to the FO3 team that came up with broken steel (and for listening to people's complaints also :P).

Would have been far less disappointing if such an ending was included with the original game...
Must get Broken Steel...

Ok, without providing any spoilers, but say once you complete Broken Steel, are you still able to go back and explore the Wasteland, or does the game end full stop, like it did originally?

Still explore.. and depending on the way you go with your decisions, you can get more ways to make caps from different characters within the Citadel or even out in the wasteland (collecting cameras and sensor modules for one character and getting blood samples from mutants for another).

Considering I have 10,000 + caps, and the trading bug which lets you practically rob the traders, I don't need to worry about doing menial tasks for lazy wastelanders :)

Indeed. However one thing that irked me is that if you get Fawkes to turn on the purifier it still gives you an ending which makes you seem like a jerk (the one you get if you make Sentinel Lyons do it).

Yeah I noticed that. When I got it I was thinking how is sending your radiation resistant friend in there to turn it off bad? :P

agrreed. was annoying, and i thought with a game with ultimate detail you think they would of accounted for it.

The first time I finished Fallout 3 I only did the main quest. I got to something like level 7 before finishing.

Pretty much the same with me, I got to level 16 while doing the main quest, and I really only concentrated on completing that, now I am going back and doing a whole heap of side quests :P

Yeah. A problem I find though is that once you've reached level 20 and collected the best gear (not very hard to do at all), there's not really much left to do. You're already so rich you could buy the entire wasteland and enemies are a cinch to beat. You end up gathering up unique items (which are worse than what you have already) just so you can get a feeling of accomplishment. Or maybe that's just me.

Yeah, I reached level 20 before finishing the main quest, and made it to level 30 before finishing Broken Steal.

Killing enemies isn't hard anymore, so now I'm just exploring what's left of the game. The only locations I haven't discovered are those in the D.C. Capital; I've otherwise found all the Wasteland locations. Found all the Bobbleheads, built a ridiculous arsenal/armoury and I've decorated my megaton house the way i like it:

Suffice to say I can't wait for the new DLC.

I filled my fridge with weapons...its like the tardis, looks small on the outside but can hold 50 miniguns.

Might be a bit of a nub question but how did you arrange all those helmets and artifacts on the shelves?
