XNA Game Studio

Unread postby HolyBumble » 16 Jun 11, 4:55 pm

I'm going to a Game Design and Development Workshop in Geelong next week, and the workshop is based "On the Microsoft XNA Game Studio & the programming language C#."
I'm just wondering, is the XNA Game Studio any good? I hear it can make Windows Phone 7 games and Xbox games, but other then that, i'm a complete noob 8)

Also, if you have any advice, that would be appreciated :D

it can do PC, Xbox and Windows Phone games to the best of my knowledge.

ive only done a few tutorials for it but found it quite good if your used to using code to do everything. I really want to play around with it a bit more though as i really liked it. afaik there is no graphical editor like Unity or Flash.

im was pretty decent at c# programming before i went in so that might have helped me out a bit. if you havent had any programming experience it may be quite tricky to get started.

if your a student (or teacher) at a registered institute you can get a free copy of Visual Studios and XNA from Dreamspark so you can try a few tutorials before you get there.

good luck... let us know how you go

Thanks for the reply :D
I once game C# a hit, but I didn't spend a great deal of time learning it. I hope that this workshop will go through it in a bit more detail :D
