I've got about 650k gold in my stash, attained through playing one WD to lvl 60 (as stated in my previous post). I never spent more than 50k on any items and I upgraded my items every ten levels or so. For me the fun in D3 is levelling characters and trying out different skills and spells. Which is why I will never grind inferno over and over looking for that elusive loot.

Pretty much nailed it there for me Ralph.

I did enjoy the game a lot when I started playing, got to level 60, and then, MEH.

Over the past two weeks I've probably enjoyed D3 the most since getting the game (it's been 2 months!).

I put it down to the fact that I've hit level 30 for 3 of my 5 characters during this time (my last char is at lvl 29) and, in my opinion, levels 30-40 is the best time to enjoy a character: you get access to all skills and can muck around with different builds, there's 3 passive skill slots so getting that extra boost feels great, and the enemies aren't ridiculously hard yet. Decent gear is reasonably easy to come by and my gold balance is healthy (not plentiful though).

I also made my Staff of Herding so got to experience Whimsyshire, and my bro and I have had a few decent co-op sessions. Hopefully we'll get to co-op through Nightmare together. Normal is for building up a character and getting decent gear, later difficulties is all about the co-op!

So yeah, from the point of view of someone who is playing all 5 chars and pacing through the game, there's quite a lot of life in it still.

Got up to Diablo on inferno, sort of looked at the fight, wiped out a couple times and thought to myself that I could beat it if I were willing to put in the time. Which I am not. Then upon reflection of the time I spent getting my Demon Hunter to that stage I decided it wasn't something I was willing to go through again on another character. So that was the end of the game for me.

Oh and then about the same time the RMAH came out. Just the idea that other people are taking it beyond that "just a game" level and spending actual money on items turned me off the whole thing. I don't want to be any part of it.

I'm still in two minds about the RMAH. I cannot fathom putting something on there for $250... it's just asking someone to be a big sucker and I'm not going to encourage that. On the other hand, one could think that person was eager to spend $250 on a high level item and would have spent that money anyway.

Either way, I'm not going to be finding anything that sells for $250 on the RMAH. It's a game first and foremost for me. I'm going to stick to selling mid level items for $1.50-$3.00 each. The way I see it, there's enough people who want to be throwing their real money away in the natural transfer of wealth. I'll just keep selling stuff which I'm more or less getting for free for a small profit each time. This will at least give me a means to make $30-40 for the expansion pack.

I myself won't spend a single dollar more for items... being decked out beyond belief isn't what I'm after. And if it was, I'd go back to hacking items in Diablo 2. That's less time consuming.

Well... I've reached that point now! I am in Nightmare Act 2 with all 5 classes and now that I'm at least at lvl 44 and decked out pretty well in both offensive and defensive stats, I feel like there's not much more to do.

Still selling the odd thing on the AH, esp with 3 mules full of gear but I now have that 'been there, done that' feeling when I load up the game. If I stop playing completely, I would have still gotten quite a bit out of the game.

Perhaps I should just push forward and reach lvl 60 with one character but I might take that hiatus like with D2 and come back when there's a new Act to go through.

With your play style, do you get this sense of repetitiveness given that you're grinding the same level and quest with 5 characters at the same time? At one point I played around with two classes simultaneously but found repeating the same quests and levels after each other really boring. Now I just focus on one character at a time and find it a lot more enjoyable.

I had a month or so break from D3 after getting my WD to lvl 60 but have got back into it after starting the barbarian and after the big patch.

Yeah, I noticed you had leveled up your Monk pretty quickly there. All that +xp looks to be working a treat.

Over the past few days, all I've been doing is leaving the game up and checking on the AH once in a while. Most of my AH sales these days are on those blue items with +Vit and +Str/Dex/Int. I set em to 18-25k gold and get a bite every now and then but it's getting to the point where a sale doesn't occur for up to 24hrs or more. The 15-20k I get isn't much but it beats gold farming.

At least when Blizzard adds some real content, we'll have a few characters there to pick up on.

It depends. During normal, I had all my classes spanning 3 different acts... when I'd get sick of one, I'd go back and play an old act. There would be times when my lower level characters would catch up and it would be tedious as my options would be the same quest/act for any character.

One reason why I was jumping between characters so often was that I kept finding/buying gear for all my classes, or I was outgrowing gear with my Monk/DH or Wiz/WD quickly enough that I wanted my other character which uses the same stat for damage to use the spare item. It was also nice to play this way to unlock all the skills.

But now that all skills are unlocked and that I'm just gunning for specific runes, I think I should just concentrate on one character first if I'm to keep playing. But having done the story 5 times, yeah, I think I need a break.

I think my Bro's Wizard is in Act 2 Nightmare so when he feels like getting back into the game, we might co-op through the game like we usually do with all our other co-op games. It's our bonding thing to co-op through a game once in a while... but then Borderlands 2 hits in a few days too.

Decided to mix things up a bit by changing around some of the skills I use; at least with the DH firstly. Instead of of Hungering Arrow and Elemental Arrow with Lightning Ball, I thought I'd change to the triple poison Bolas and use Rapid Fire again (though with High Velocity now available). Love the triple Bolas... as long as my DPS is high, a single hit seems to take down enemies before they get too close. Everything is so f'ing green though.

Also got rid of Strafe and am using the Boar summon... feels a bit like playing Torchlight with the extra pet. Can't get that 'big pig' song from the Lion King out of my head now. Why can't I make the Boar dress in drag and do the hula?

1.0.5 Patch notes.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/7390518 ... -9_27_2012

Some massive changes coming in this patch getting ready for the next patch (PvP)

So far some of the major changes will be adding players8, changing up neph valour and ways of getting neph stacks, introduction of the new event Infernal Machine. They are just a couple of the big changes with heaps more things being fine tuned to even the playing field out again for the people who find it hard in inferno.

Looking forward to seeing how the changes affect the gameplay :)

Im still not sure where I stand with D3....

I have beaten inferno with my monk (admittedly after shelling out about $20 bucks on the RMAH for some shiney upgrades, btw it is amazing what 2-3 bucks does actually buy you on there)

Got a lv 40ish wiz and 30 something barb and DH

I randomly jump on and enjoy it, but I dunno, no real draw for me.

It's like, hmmm, watch a movie or play D3... movie is less effort! movie it is

Since Torchlight 2 has come out, I've only been getting rid of stuff on the AH. On the gold AH prices have dropped significantly of late but so has the number of quality of items IMHO. Rare stuff that I use to not be able to sell at 5k gold is now going. At least I'm selling it I guess.

I suppose I'll get back into D3 at some point. TL2 is still a lot like TL1 and that had a use by date for me and there's a few unfinished things in D3 for me.

I stopped playing a while ago. No doubt I'll get back into it later down the track though, Diablo 2 was the same for me where I would play it in spurts really hard.
