No, we shouldn't have to spend more money just to survive later difficulties. It's only a game.

Rich people just like to waste their money.
I will forever be gob-smacked at what people will spend their money on.

It's no different than going to some crazy restaraunt and spending $200 on a single meal. People do that ****, its insane; and that will last less time than an item for Inferno Diablo! You eat it, and its gone!

Especially in countries with poor economic status.

There was an article on it a few weeks ago... in short, no. You're competing with bots/chinese gold farmers/etc and ****, its based of random loot. You're more likely to win lotto than make money from this IMO.

Chinese gold farmers are the people that are making a career out of it!
$20US can last someone in Thailand or Combodia an entire week.

Not quite gone till it comes out the other end :P

But yeah, my bro has sold a few items for a good price. He's easily made more than my piddly $11.16. Still, I should have enough for the expansion when the time comes.

Even a screenshot won't tell you exactly what the item was, which is annoying. And I don't believe screenshots prove anything, with the power of photoshop at everyone's disposal nowadays.

Anyway as a sort of pricecheck for others - the item I sold for $80 was a one handed axe with about 780 dps, 800 life on hit, 100 vitality, 2.2% lifesteal and a socket which had a 80% crit damage gem. The item I sold for $60 was a ilvl63 shield with only 21% block (3700-4600) but it was a pretty decent stat stick - 80 strength, 13% life, 80 all resist, 7.5% crit chance. Again, like I said.. they're good items, but I don't believe people should pay more for them than the entire game itself. I reckon that shield is better than most stormshields, really. Rest of the stuff were just random pieces that went for $20 each.

Bought the weapon off the AH for 500k, the shield for 4 million, while making my way through inferno. Most of what makes a geared player geared is just luck at finding deals on the AH... which is really no different to getting lucky on drops in the game I guess.

I was bidding on an amulet today. It was one with bonus 5-10 damage, strength, vit, XP and a socket. Was hoping to get this to put on my Barb (and socket a +34 Str gem that my bro gave me).

Came home a while ago to find that I was outbid so, being a good sport, I took the money back and went to look for a similar item... only to find that the purchaser had stuck a +34 str gem in the amulet and thrown the amulet back on the AH at 50k gold start price! Not even going to waste my time here.

All I can say is that I'm glad I decided to win on another amulet with similar stats (just +4-8 damage) but with life regen. It's not the other amulet but for a Barb starting Act 1 in Nightmare, it still boosted my dps by over 100.

Now I just need to find weapons with sockets... love putting gems that boost damage by 14-28. DPS just bumps up so much.

Thought this might be an interesting video for you guys

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aed55ZYR ... re=g-all-u

Some of you may know Force, he was a die hard Diablo 2 fan and was basically promoting Diablo 3 for 2 years. Blizzard flew him to their head office and gave him like a 100 beta keys.

Basically force quit as soon as he used the RMAH because he said it cheapen the feeling
Gaming Name: Blood*Angel or something like that

Wow! I was checking out Force's vids on the lead up to Diablo 3's release.

I honestly have to say that I agree with him on the whole loot grinding thing. My D2 characters maxed out at about 40 and my Torchlight characters haven't been touched since they finished the main storyline. Grinding for better loot has always gotten tedious for me. In D2, my bro and I ended up hacking items with plus life and mana steal, max resistance, etc. We played strictly offline so it wasn't on our conscience that it was immoral... that was what kept the game fun for us... for a little while at least.

I'm still enjoying the game. Max level I've reached is 35 with my barb and I'm going through as my other characters now in order to catch up. I honestly love being able to share items between characters as I experience a different play style with all of them. The AH has been good in that it's solved my need in D2 to hack items or to loot grind. But I think there'll come a point where items will be too costly and I won't want to continue when there are diminishing return.

Hopefully I'll have made enough on the RMAH for the expansion pack by then. A fresh story to play through always helps me keep going.

I wonder if he realised he could not use the RMAH. or if he had already, sell all his **** and start again. or start hardcore and not use the RMAH.

blaming the RMAH for his boredom is pretty weak.

Lack of self-discipline maybe?

But as far as loot grinding goes, I do find Diablo 3 to have pretty poor drops like Diablo 2 did... I wouldn't be using the AH if loot drops were better.
