Most annoying Elite/Rare power combinations

Unread postby Capt.no0b » 8 Jun 12, 4:39 pm

I thought it would be fun to list some of the more annoying combinations of powers that you've seen on Elite/Rare mobs.

So far these are mine:

Mortar/Nightmare
Freezing/Nightmare (couldn't get a hit in here :( )

as a monk anything with a bunch of melee-related damage. stuff like fire chains, desecrator, and plague. if you have even two of these things, the amount of sustained damage they do is crazy. then coupled with something like shielded or invulnerable minions. these properties make it hard to life on hit, so a lot of HP regeneration is gone.

I'm still playing in Normal... freezing has to be the most annoying for me followed by knockback and then the one that scares you away.

good thing about freezing is you can typically dodge them.

When the mobs are near each other, you only need to focus down one.

They share the damage you do to them.

does that mean that if one was somehow left out of combat, they would all heal?

I find it is also dependant on the type of mob and their characteristics.

In Act II Hell the other day i found some imps that were Jailer/Desecrator/Fire Chains.

Could not do em on my little old monk because whenever I got out of the jail the little **** just ran away. And when I was jailed they just all ran around me raping my face with fire chains.

Enchanted/Freezing/Anything in a dungeon can be a killer also, not a big threat outside but when you don't have the room to move....

I find i am about 3x more likely to die to a Elite inside, then outside as I often just get trapped...

O, another one that did my head in last night was Vampiric/Desecrator/Invul Minions/Plauge, but the real kicker was it was one of those demons with the big **** tongues that whip you and it was inside...
Deus, DeusIgnis, Ignis, D to the I-g-n-i-s, but not **** DUES dammit

Eh, that isn't that bad as you can simply teleport out of the jailing and AOE takes care of the illusions. Fast, vortex, immune mobs, extra health. No matter what you do, you aren't killing it as a wizard.

Vampire + Plague.

Gotta keep getting away from the plague and every time it touches you or they hit you while you move away means they regen hp. Can be a very long and slow battle.
All I know is my gut says maybe.
If I don't survive, tell my wife.....hello.
